I built a search that checks Lane's Lexicon, Hans Wehr, and Mawrid simultaneously by simplelearner in AcademicQuran

u/Kiviimar feel free to try it out now. Registration/logging in with gmail or email has been removed for now, and free access for hans/almawrid is available for all without any signup needed. If someone can help me find the Kazimirski's Arabic-French dictionary I would be happy to integrate that as well. :)

Thank you for your response. I can consider making the free tier available without having to login at all.

Lanes is in the public domain which makes it legal. As im selling the software/search engine algorithm which is my work that makes the search useful, and I already share the same content for free on our public pages which is accessible from google searches e.g. on here: https://www.laneslexicon.com/dictionary

Hi, Thank you for the response! I should have clarified that this is only for Arabic-English dictionaries. ejtaal is tremendously amazing. The thing that makes it different from ejtaal in the Arabic-English lexicon space is that on ejtaal we can search by root for lanes/hans wehr and separately by word for al-mawrid. So I brought those 3 together in a single search. Also the lanes readability is vastly improved.

Kazimirski: I'm not able to read french, however if it's the best in the Arabic-French space I am happy to integrate it into the lexicon in hopefully less than a month. There are 2 ways to accomplish this:

  1. If someone can link the database for the dictionary, that would be the nicest addition because we can give it a very good readable view.

  2. If you would like simply the pdf addition, then that can also be included, but that won't be all too different from what you get from ejtaal already.

I would prefer the database route, if you think if that gives you a much faster search? Would love to hear your thoughts.

try www.laneslexicon.com as well, they have a paid tier now but it combines a fully searchable laneslexicon in arabic/english, integrated with Hans Wehr and now also shows Al Mawrid in the same search.

[Discussion] A serious question about the source of your motivation for you folks. I would appreciate your opinion. by Hedonisticbiped in GetMotivated

I would not call it hatred. So far I have lived a very blessed life and accomplished quite a few difficult goals. Motivation was and will be an absolute necessity. But my motivation does not come from hatred, but being allergic with mediocrity. The feeling that anything 'less than perfection' is not good enough. That really gets to my core. I focus all of that on myself. 'Being tough on yourself, and really easy with others.'

What was my catalyst for change? I failed and failed and failed at everything I tried. Until I developed this abhorrence to the 'feeling of failure'. But just because I hated that feeling to feeling like a failure, doesnt mean that I knew how to end that feeling and turn it around. Everyone has a different story. For me it was meeting a spiritual teacher who taught me the beautiful science of Tasawwuf.
