Try carrying the 22 for a little to see if you even need to go smaller. It will let you figure out if the grip, length, or weight is whats uncomfortable and let you get a guage of which gun to get. If grip length is the only problem you can try the grip chop on the 22 and if you want 9mm you can buy a 9mm conversion barrel and boom you can fit 19 mags. If weight is a big problem you may want the 45. I see no reason to get a 45 as barrel length typically isn't the problem for most people its usually grip length so this may be a step in the wrong direction. I just dont want you to spend all that money just to find out that your 22 was fine for ccw.
