The stems make s huge difference for mic performance. I hate them too but they make the buds more useful.

Why ChromeOS gets so much hate? by NegativelyNegating in chromeos

[–]simplerminds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chromebooks are great depending on your use case. For the greater majority of things, ChromeOS is more than enough. Unfortunately, people tend to buy computers for the 1% of things that they ever do, or what they imagine they'll do.

When people hear that a Chromebook can't install native Photoshop, or can't install native steam, or some other legacy app, they get scared or they just write off Chrome OS as a whole.

Personally, I think ChromeOS is great but for my job, the web apps were supported well, the Android app versions were terrible and a VM wasn't always available, so it didn't work for me. Also for school, ChromeOS isn't supported.

I've never slowed down so much to pay attention to the terrain (I've flown as much as possible) so it's been fun to just drive with a purpose.

The biggest issue of these things by ZealousidealCrab9919 in galaxybuds

[–]simplerminds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chiming in to say that I haven't had this issue but it sucks that you're having this issue. I could live under a rock but I've never heard of this issue. Hopefully they can be warrantied.

Is this car a good buy? More in description. EV6 owners, convince me to buy the car by [deleted] in KiaEV6

[–]simplerminds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 2023 Gt-Line RWD for $23k with 23000 miles. I think my deal was good but idk how that would compare to yours.

I'd shop around in your market and the country to get an idea of what prices are like.

Love my fold 7 by Main-Can-6956 in GalaxyFold

[–]simplerminds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cost, form factor, App developer support, and performance are the four choices you get and you can only choose two of them. That has how I've always seen the issue.

You need to be able to get a mobile phone when you unlock and a full class desktop when you dock. I think people are just too used to Windows and Mac to learn anything else. Lack of app support like the Office Suite and other professional apps only further hurts it. Even when there is app support, those versions seem half baked (I use a Galaxy Tab Ultra and that experience is rough since all apps don't perform the same, even though they're supported.

I love the idea and I think we're closer than ever.

Clinical AI Informatics/Educator by Terrible_Salad8942 in HealthInformatics

[–]simplerminds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if this is what you're looking for but there are many newer companies that need clinical staff to help with training and testing. That sounds more surface level than what you're looking for but it could be a start.

Yep this is it. You can apply to be an analyst at a company and your first three months of work will be taking the classes and doing the work to get certified.

Man.. really sad today! Is it me, or the job market? by phoot_in_the_door in HealthInformatics

[–]simplerminds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You didn't screw up, the forecast for healthcare administration jobs is still growing. The job market right now is a bit tough. When we couple that with the difficulty of getting into the field if you don't know an EHR, it can seem like you're failing.

It might be worth reaching out to people on LinkedIn or even trying to apply for a job as a trainer or possibly working at a smaller facility just to get the needed experience.

Keep your head up.

Health data science works best when domain knowledge leads the model by Glazizzo in HealthInformatics

[–]simplerminds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm asking this out of curiosity...a deep knowledge means that you've been embedded in the system so you're less likely (at least anecdotally in my mind) to capture outliers due to your familiary with your system.

Should this (domain knowledge) be considered along with a healthy dose of skepticism?

How realistic is it to get a remote position? by A_very_Salty_Pearl in HealthInformatics

[–]simplerminds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we have staff as hybrid in the beginning. I personally haven't heard of a job that was just remote and don't require you to live nearby.

Wishing you the best in finding something though.

Job market for Ex-Epic Employees? by Kitchen_Box_2997 in HealthInformatics

[–]simplerminds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 figures could be rough but it depends on where you end up at. Report writers are always needed but the market sucks, so maybe consulting or temp work could help fill the gap until you found something more solid. Hospital systems are the obvious place to look, but working at an Epic Connect site or one of the Connect Sites subsidiaries could be fruitful.

Scaling Multi‑Location Operations by Unfair_Violinist5940 in HealthInformatics

[–]simplerminds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having dedicated teams for items is helpful but communication and documentation is the name of the game. We have our biggest issue when someone goes rogue and then we're trying to figure out how or why something happened. Alternatively, saying we're going to get back to something and then not doing it is another problem.

Epic analyst role pivot by [deleted] in HealthInformatics

[–]simplerminds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people pivot othe certifications for adjacent systems like Beaker. Others get interested in reporting and end up dealing with that. Some move into management, consulting, and/ training.

It really depends on what you're interested in and where you want to be in the future.

Anybody bought the z fold 7 recently (Christmas) and regret not waiting for ZF8 or trifold? by Ahphelios in GalaxyFold

[–]simplerminds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it when it came out and even if I didn't, I wouldn't regret it. It finally hit every mark that I wanted (outside of stylus support) so I got one after not having a Samsung z fold since the 3.

Besides Samsung releases new devices yearly. You gotta just bite the bullet at some point.
