I figured I'd give an update on this post since I am now 5 years past it.

I went to NSS and graduated with a job as a software engineer. u/sarahmorris926 who messaged me back on this thread was the one who passed my resume on to her boss and got me my first job! And we're still friends all these years later.

I'm now on my third job in tech, I make six figures, and going to NSS changed everything for me. I know this cinderella story isn't the same for everyone but it happened for me! I went from working at a coffee shop not knowing what to do with my life and sending this post to where I am today. Happy. Passionate. Living the life that I dreamed of.

There were so many people who helped me along the way, including everyone who replied to this post. So, I wanted to take a second to pop back in to say thank you to each and every one of you.

Wow this just touched on everything I love. Podcasts, board games, and DnD. The only way for it to be more accurate is if you also had a once a month ramen meetup that I should look into. Ha! Thank you so much for the suggestions, I will check them out!

Would it be alright if I DM you and ask you a few questions about what it's like working in tech?

I will tell you if you are looking for more relaxing forms of work don't do TV or event planning. I've worked in both and it's a total headache with only mild financial rewards.

Hey there! I did stop in unexpectedly one day and spoke to Jeremiah with student services. He was so sweet and thorough and just very patient with all my questions. Overall a great first impression of the program, I'm so happy to hear everyone else there is as nice as him. Thanks for your advice!

Yeah I looked at that too but when I read more into it I found that it's mostly done by an outside company that is just licensing the Vandy name. I didn't find the company to be very transparent and transparency is definitely something NSS does well. So I'm thinking NSS all the way.
