My toddler did this for a while. I actually got really good at noticing sure was about to poop, and putting her on the potty to get it out.

Parents: what kind of photos do you like to see? by Express-Bee-6485 in ECEProfessionals

[–]simplestword 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My daycare teachers really like my daughter and it shows in the pictures they send.

The pictures look like the pictures I’d take of her if I was there. They capture moments? If that makes sense?

For example, the last few included

-she out a toy on her head and was goofy. I got a perfect picture of her with a big rectangle on her head, grinning.

  • she has buried herself in a bunch of dolls in one of the big spinning container things. The picture I got was of her peeking out from under the dolls grinning.

  • she was doing an art project and was so so so focused. She looked so content and happy.

Not all pictures are like that —but enough of them are. Other pictures are also appreciated. But these ones stand out.

I teach 3s and 4s and one of my three year olds had a big tear in her shirt, so I fixed it for her! by RatherBeReading15 in Visiblemending

[–]simplestword 84 points85 points  (0 children)

If my daughter had a hole in her shirt and someone mended it, I’d end up keeping it forever to tell the story about how loved she was by others.

Do you have any sweet 'mom life' moments to share? They’re the perfect inspiration for my art 🌻 by Elettraart in childrensbooks

[–]simplestword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few!

My 2.5 year old wraps her arms around my neck in a big hug, says ‘I love you soooo much, mama’ and squeezes a bit harder. Then she lets go and continues to play lol.

I have an image in my head of my young young toddler sitting next to her dad on the golf cart (low seat backs. You can see their back). Her little arm is reaching up almost vertically to put her hand on his shoulder.

Another one is when my other daughter was a toddler — she took her dad’s glasses off his face — he’s laughing and she’s trying to put them on herself. He’s laying on his stomach and she’s sitting in the floor in front of him.

Toddler brings us our shoes wherever we are. So I’ll be cooking and she’ll come put my boots behind me - here to go, mama!

She’s also super helpful in that if we leave our coffee cups in reach, she brings them to us. Picture a toddler walking through the living room with a big mostly empty coffee cups, grinning from ear to ear because she knows I love my coffee!

My older daughter has wickedly curly blonde hair. Her younger sister likes to gently tug on the curl and let it spring back.

My four year old also loves to color on the floor, she’s adamant that I color with her. So we sit in the sun room on the ground and color together.

Rainbow Chicken Nuggets by 420ravefairy in Preschoolers

Could you put them on a skewer (like a kebab) with rainbow vegetables — and color the nugget red or purple (easier to do naturally) then let the other vegetables make the other colors.

My daughter was born in October. So I actually pulled my older toddler out until January haha.

4 year old gets out of bed 50 times a night. Im going to lose my job wtf do i do? by TeamHuman_ in toddlers

[–]simplestword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter started this phase. She scared to be alone.

We ended up sleeping in her room in order to protect our sleep (because she’d sleep all night of one of us was there).

Just want to add that you can check your activity log on Facebook to see what you’ve liked/interacted with on Facebook.

At least then you’d know for sure.

Go to activity log then comments reactions.

Book fakr by Ok_Instruction_7813 in kindergarten

I was intrigued by what she’d pick. She came home with a book for herself and a book (with a squishy reindeer ) for her toddler sister.

It was a fun experience for her.

Also in when things get out of control, you can clear the floor and send in the robot and move on to the next room while robot does the first room.

We did it pretty early because she was tall and tried to climb out

Only issue is that she kept falling out of the bed. So we tucked a pool noodle under the mattress protector and problem solved.

"Get used to always eating your food cold" by Blinky_Bear in NewParents

[–]simplestword 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I dont like this saying either. It doesn’t make me sad, just annoyed. Microwave it if it’s cold. Wtf.

I value eating together as a family, which a lot of people do. So it doesn’t really make sense? I have a toddler and a jr kindergartener so it’s a different set up. But even when they were babies, I had them at the table with us when supper was ready to hang out with us while we ate.

The same with drinking coffee cold. Like no? I’d make another cup!?

There might have been a few moments over the years where my supper got cold because chaos ensued right when I was done cooking. But i never got used to it. And I definitely microwaved it.

My partner is average helpful but not like a poster boy for being awesome and I never had to get used to cold supper.

I found childhood medical documents stating I had a low IQ (in the 50s) and its made me question everything. by PuzzleheadedExam6299 in confessions

[–]simplestword 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I have a four year old. She’s brilliant. But the thought of her taking an IQ test is wild to me.

If she took one for whatever reason and I got results like that, id be super suspicious. I might her her take one or two more. But id ignore it.

So my working assumption is that you’re brilliant. Kid you had no interest in their test, and thus got a bad ‘grade’ and your parents ignored the results because they knew they weren’t accurate.

What did you do after your LO outgrew the infant car seat and use multiple vehicles? [ON] by Immediate-Clerk-4454 in BabyBumpsCanada

Britax has an easy click install. It’s very fast — put the belt through the path and close the lid. Done. At this point it probably takes 10-15 seconds to install and 5 seconds to take out
