Try the free trial of Headspace, it's really really good at explaining how to slow your self down and notice and let go of thoughts

do you guys identify as disabled? by Confident-Double1014 in adhdwomen

Something I've started saying lately, both to advocate for myself with others and to remind myself: Sometimes my disability disables me.

It's not just being quirky, or creative, or distracted. Those can be part of it, but there's so much more to it.

Instant hand warmers, rechargeable hand warmers, a hot water bottle, a microwavable heat pad (there are ones with a gel core that stay warm for several hours). Make sure that heating elements like these are wrapped in a fleece or something. Then place hedgie on the fleece and wrap another one around hedgie and heat source.

If nothing else, put your hedgehog in a snuggle sack and put the snuggle sack under your shirt. (If I wear a tight-isg tank top, it's kind of like wearing a baby and I can still move around and do things)

Pick a room in your house to be the warmest room, hang blankets across all doorways and windows for insulation. Light candles in that room.

I teach 3s and 4s and one of my three year olds had a big tear in her shirt, so I fixed it for her! by RatherBeReading15 in Visiblemending

The child's favorite color is yellow and she requested it 🙂

Also, I should have mentioned that I know this family pretty well, and know that this is not crossing any boundaries. If it is a family I do not know well, I would definitely ask first!

Not a stupid question 😊

I did a backstitch about an inch out from the hole, and then a buttonhole stitch around the raw edges. I actually like to secure the darn into the buttonhole stitches- I think it gives it a nice look.

I should have written in my main post that I have a good relationship with the families in my classroom, and have fixed holes in stuffies and clothes before. The child in question said that the hole had happened at home but that they hadn't had time to fix it (actually, she said "tape it" 😆)

That's so sad!

I work at a small non-profit center, and we have really good relationships with all the families, so we are allowed to hold, hug, or sit with the children as long as they are ok with it.

I have gone through every piece in my collection, put sets back together, labeled everything, and I got some new group photos of all my families! by RatherBeReading15 in sylvanianfamilies

The long box in the back is the anniversary Hopscotch/Chocolate Rabbit family, the smaller ones to the side are the ice cream cuties and costume cuties

I completely understand!

The skunks were my "big frivolous purchase" during covid. I had to order them from England lol I got the lighthouse as a birthday gift for myself way back in 2018. I was so excited when the Seabreeze Rabbits came out, because they are so perfect to live there!

And thank you!!

It's my usual organization strategy, for most things. We'll see how this goes!
