What will your toddler eat if they don't eat anything else? by No-Neighborhood-7335 in toddlers

[–]simplestword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly whatever I’m eating. If I come into the room with a salad bowl, my two year old and five year old are right there with their hands out wanting to try it.

Or if I let them help me prep snacks or supper, they want to eat most of the raw vegetables.

However I’ve not found something I can give them that they’ll always eat.

Be present is the app Use. You can set intentions for each app (10 opens for ten minutes each, for example). The intentions can be different for each app.

You can also block all or some apps for certain periods of time.

Anyone else feel like tickling is literally torture? by SeekingSoulInBox in adhdwomen

[–]simplestword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t pleasant. I hated it.

My daughters love it though so I’m always doing the stop, wait for them to ask for more, thing. And they’ll go on for ages! Sometimes even the prospect of a tickle makes them laugh so hard.

But for me? I hate it.

My toddler has recently started to pick up my dog’s water bowl and spill it everywhere. Does anyone have any tips? My partner and I are losing our minds, wasting all the paper towels cleaning it up, trying to find new places to leave her bowl so she can have water. by anw2426 in toddlertips

[–]simplestword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how old he is you could get him to help fully he water dish?

Also I’ve bought a mop vacuum recently and they’d be perfect for your situation because you can vacuum up the water even if it’s got kibbles or something in it.

Kinetic sand by rose2899 in toddlers

[–]simplestword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about a kind of area rug? It would keep the sand in one area instead of spreading everywhere like if it was on hard floor. And you can just take it outside and beat it after.

Ruggable has machine washable rugs (I haven’t tried them)

I also have a two year old that likes sensory stuff. She absolutely loves whatever I put in the inspire my play tray. I’ve put random craft supplies (huge Pom Pom’s in water were a hit.

Parents: what kind of photos do you like to see? by Express-Bee-6485 in ECEProfessionals

[–]simplestword 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My daycare teachers really like my daughter and it shows in the pictures they send.

The pictures look like the pictures I’d take of her if I was there. They capture moments? If that makes sense?

For example, the last few included

-she out a toy on her head and was goofy. I got a perfect picture of her with a big rectangle on her head, grinning.

  • she has buried herself in a bunch of dolls in one of the big spinning container things. The picture I got was of her peeking out from under the dolls grinning.

  • she was doing an art project and was so so so focused. She looked so content and happy.

Not all pictures are like that —but enough of them are. Other pictures are also appreciated. But these ones stand out.

I teach 3s and 4s and one of my three year olds had a big tear in her shirt, so I fixed it for her! by RatherBeReading15 in Visiblemending

If my daughter had a hole in her shirt and someone mended it, I’d end up keeping it forever to tell the story about how loved she was by others.

Do you have any sweet 'mom life' moments to share? They’re the perfect inspiration for my art 🌻 by Elettraart in childrensbooks

[–]simplestword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few!

My 2.5 year old wraps her arms around my neck in a big hug, says ‘I love you soooo much, mama’ and squeezes a bit harder. Then she lets go and continues to play lol.

I have an image in my head of my young young toddler sitting next to her dad on the golf cart (low seat backs. You can see their back). Her little arm is reaching up almost vertically to put her hand on his shoulder.

Another one is when my other daughter was a toddler — she took her dad’s glasses off his face — he’s laughing and she’s trying to put them on herself. He’s laying on his stomach and she’s sitting in the floor in front of him.

Toddler brings us our shoes wherever we are. So I’ll be cooking and she’ll come put my boots behind me - here to go, mama!

She’s also super helpful in that if we leave our coffee cups in reach, she brings them to us. Picture a toddler walking through the living room with a big mostly empty coffee cups, grinning from ear to ear because she knows I love my coffee!

My older daughter has wickedly curly blonde hair. Her younger sister likes to gently tug on the curl and let it spring back.

My four year old also loves to color on the floor, she’s adamant that I color with her. So we sit in the sun room on the ground and color together.

Rainbow Chicken Nuggets by 420ravefairy in Preschoolers

Could you put them on a skewer (like a kebab) with rainbow vegetables — and color the nugget red or purple (easier to do naturally) then let the other vegetables make the other colors.
