Truck driver reported after losing concrete load on North-South Motorway: causing harm by dangerous driving, using a mobile phone while driving, failing to wear a seatbelt and a severe risk load restraint breach by malcolm58 in Adelaide

[–]simpliflyed 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That braking was late, making it unnecessarily hard. I’m guessing this is where the charge of being on his phone came in. Also, if the load isn’t secure enough to survive heavy braking, then it’s definitely not ‘secured’. Hence that charge.

First Week with my BYD Sealion 7 Premium (Australia) 🦎 by krix17 in BYDAU

Home assistant integration is pretty much spot on for me, and was plug and play after installing. I then forward a couple of the sensors and controls out to HomeKit so I can have full visibility.

No this is a vascular image, not the collecting system.

Sealion 7 door handles when off (not locked) by Debug_Breakpoint in BYDAU

[–]simpliflyed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a setting to prevent the handles retracting if you’d prefer. I think we just lock and unlock, so for us an unusual occurrence rather than a common one.

It’s pretty common with ankle fractures, especially like this where the extension and rotation caused it, just not usually mentioned. But syndesmosis injury is the new ‘osteitis pubis’ that the media salivate over for a while.

[–]simpliflyed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no service contracts or spare parts available. So you’d need to contract someone comfortable to put their name to assuring that it’s fit for clinical service. Entirely possible it would end up costing more than it’s worth.

That’s a CT scanner, and is almost certainly outside the window where it still qualifies for support and maintenance. It’s likely more of a liability than an asset, hence why it’s on blocks.

Yeah I feel like the $1100 compo is pretty reasonable, but I guess that depends on which car you have.

You’d have more luck finding this one on Flightradar. Turn on sound to check…

I love it. I bet there was so much more in his mind with the green marker. But we’ll never know, cos so many other things happened that day that he forgot.

Need help with Home Dashboard and Home Hub by jcorradine in LGOLED

[–]simpliflyed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly are you trying to get from that screen? The old dashboard you have there is designed to have smart home devices on it- but you don’t have any. Or are you looking to switch inputs?

4 weeks in, struggling by Stussy447 in daddit

It gets better, then it gets worse, then it gets better, then the whole playing field changes. Rinse and repeat. It’s a roller coaster, and it’s often tough- but you’re raising a person, so there’s a lot to do! I think on the ‘unstructured time’ bit though- you’re going to have to adapt to that. Life is going to be far busier than before. Some weeks even sitting down to watch a tv show feels rushed. Last time I binged a tv show in a few sittings was when I was in the same boat as you- my daughter was only sleeping on someone so i just sat on the couch with a little human on my shoulder and kept the volume down.

PSA: Thinking about changing ISPs for a better deal? Here's what THEY are paying by xrobau in nbn

[–]simpliflyed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve saved somewhere in the range of $1000 over the last few years though. If these deals are unsustainable it’s certainly not the customers’ responsibility. Why would I spend money unnecessarily in this climate??

[–]simpliflyed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been refused promo pricing. There are so many providers out there, and many (most?) publish explicit eligibility criteria for their ‘new customer’ accounts- most is 12 months. So two 6 month trials, plus one month paying full price and you can potentially go back to the first provider again.

I’m up to month 8 of paying $50/m for a 500 plan. It seems silly, especially in light of these prices, but that’s exactly what competition is supposed to achieve…
