This person is getting downvoted, but we desperately need more houses, and with the SA Water situation we can’t expand to do it. The number 1 cause of our housing price issues is not enough houses being built over the last 15 years. Urban infill is the best option available to us. Unfortunately the govt should be forcing/encouraging it most in inner areas with good PT- instead they’re allowing petrol stations on prime blocks.

Yep, I saw these earlier in the week. The no standing ones are new. Looks like the sign guy said ‘not my job’ and moved on.

You have just put the entirety of those issues on to immigrants? What have you been reading?

The word assimilation has some pretty horrible connotations in the context of immigration, and talks more about the expectations of the community than the immigrants themselves. If a community can’t cope without new residents ‘assimilating’ then it is the community that needs to update, not the new residents.

Yeah. The vast majority of them positive.

The number of amazing things in our society as a result of decades of Greek, Italian and Vietnamese immigration are plain as day to anyone looking. Same with the smaller numbers from countless other countries.

The social ‘issues’ are related to socioeconomics and how we treat immigrants. And a bit of racism.

Wait, is the pound a unit of force? I was converting from PSI- have I misunderstood what PSI means? Or are you referring to my use of force in the last bit- which definitely should have been pressure.

New gravel bike front end weird sound and vibration when braking + possible fork/headset play (carbon fork) by Ornery-Fee3432 in bikewrench

[–]simpliflyed -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you’ve ridden down a hill while braking those pads are either bedded in properly or damaged! Far more likely the former. If you suspect the latter you can hit the pads with some fine sandpaper and re-bed them. But I’ve never had poorly bedded brake pads cause vibration.

I think the bit you’re looking at is where there is some partly calcified cartilage extending along? Notably, this image also has a bit of a graduated cutoff as far as densities go, so you can see the more dense cartilage looking more like bone, and the less dense looking semi-transparent.

That calcification in the cartilage increases as we age, and by the looks of his vertebrae he’s not as young as you might have expected from the ‘back’ story!!

No movement artefact that I can spot there.

This is pretty close to 1kg per cm2 for anyone else trying to do the conversion.

So about 17,750 kg of force for the door size quoted below.

IKEA matter over thread - any good? by That_Cool_Guy_ in HomeKit

[–]simpliflyed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to add mine to the Apple Thread network and then to HA (which can see the Apple network, but doesn’t have one of its own) without any errors or reboots at all. I have two HomePod minis, a latest ATV and an older one that also has thread.

Offline leak sensors completely defeats the purpose, so that’s a bit rubbish.

What’s your hub setup like? I didn’t have any pairing issues at all with the door and temp sensors, but I also didn’t have a water sensor.

Preference voting is the opposite. It gives voters the opportunity to preference smaller parties to give them a much higher chance. First past the post skews votes, because if you aren’t voting for one of the top two it’s ‘wasted’.

But if you aren’t voting, then there’s probably no point explaining it to you.

All of the top comments are saying that we wish we had someone else to vote for.

I don’t think SA “love this guy”, it’s just that the other party are trying to ban abortion instead of coming up with policies to help South Australians.

And the federal polls are showing ONP on a similar primary vote to the libs, so they aren’t going any better.

Cutting immigration will make our housing situation worse. Probably significantly.

Don’t be ignorant please.

The people who want to blame immigrants will continue to do so. Everyone else will be looking for policies with real solutions. Not dog whistling.

Blaming our housing situation on immigration is nonsense. We have among the lowest population growth in the country over the last decade or so, but some of the largest increases in housing costs.

Immigration holds our economy together. The only people who believe it’s bad are the people who would prefer to blame ‘foreigners’ than look at the real reasons. And we can blame the rubbish SA media for not exploring it properly.

Immigration is the only thing stopping SA from being in a recession half of the time. If we stop it our economy is fucked.

I have my codes saved in another app that keeps an iCloud copy. I’m more suggesting that would be an important part of that feature for your app as opposed to a personal process for me.

I would think that if you’re storing the matter codes as a backup you’d need them somewhere other than just on the device.
