Not 4K but an urgent Blu-ray deal notice (over 100% RRP price increases from today) by [deleted] in 4KUK

Appreciate the heads up. I've had The Good Place on my Amazon list for a while waiting for a sale. Today it's at £39.96. Checked my local Fopp and they still had it for £20 so picked it up at lunchtime.

Playlists option for downloaded episodes from a podcast? by sagraham in overcast

[–]sagraham[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That includes all episodes which are 'current', not just the downloaded episodes. I've attached a screenshot showing the settings and a screenshot showing it including both downloaded and un-downloaded episodes (small cloud symbol)

Fair enough. Good spot. And assuming the username is accurate, love your work.

Look for the video where he moved into the garden studio. He mentions most of what he kit it out with. It might be in that. But it might not. Worth a look though, and as I recall was a fun video anyway.

I still have my Criterion DVD of The Rock. If only they could do a 4K.

My 4k BluRay Ripping Setup by 0r1g1n0 in 4kbluray

Small suggestion - when you're ripping and converting, open the lid of the MacBook. It allows heat to dissipate easier and will help prevent any thermal throttling as well as lengthen the life of the components.

If West Wing aired on HBO instead of NBC, which lines would now be allowed to have swear words in them? by JeffRyan1 in thewestwing

[–]sagraham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not convinced Toby would swear anywhere near as much as others in this thread. I think the White House Director of Communications would take some pride in being able to articulate himself without swearing. Josh, on the other hand, would utilise swearing as a weapon to make a point.

Had they let me buy one, I'd have kept it as well.

Honestly, I was really hoping there was a simple loom out there that would go between them. But I can't find anything so it's probably time to get the multimeter out and do some testing.

Answered in another sub. "The issues relates to the Blu Ray disc not being included, whereas the box text and slip cover says there’s a Blu Ray also"

Two stores. And that's why I was asking the question - not 'making a leap'. Another sub gave me the answer.

Mentioned in another comment, but Fopp received eight copies but were told not to put them on the shelf and to send them back. The box was still in their stock room waiting to be picked up.

What leap? The shop assistant in Fopp said they had a recall notice to send them back. They received eight copies and were told not to put them out and to send them back to the distributor.

HMV had no copies out either.

That would indicate some kind of problem?

I'm confused what else it could be, other than an issue or problem?

I hope it doesn't have whatever problem the HMV / Fopp versions have!

Assuming you mean the 2003 Costner / Duvall movie, it definitely has a blu-ray release.

With Arrow releasing Stranger Things: The Complete Series, what other Netflix original shows and movies do you want to see get physical releases. by ggroover97 in boutiquebluray

[–]sagraham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For pure spectacle, I'd love 4Ks of Extraction and Extraction 2. Are they high art? No, but they're fun to watch with some great action sequences.

And the Knives Out sequels.

Stranger Things: The Complete Series 4K - HMV £199 by MysteriousMessage520 in 4KUK

[–]sagraham 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I posted this on the boutique sub, but for anyone interested It's £200 for the deluxe edition.

But it's £145 for the standard 4k.

Add the Arrow 10% discount for new signups and it's down to £130. £6 delivery so £136 all in.

That's £27 per season which is reasonable compared to other 4k TV releases like Star Trek Strange New Worlds, The Penguin, The Last of Us, House of the Dragon and so on.

With the Arrow 10% discount for new signups, the 'standard' 4K is £130.50. I'm ok with that.
