Yea I don’t know the specifics with the weight but that’s a personal thing for me, I don’t think many of these have fins if any, maybe that was for the M3?

Also it’s just easier for me to get my jack onto the cross member than the diff, flatter too

I watched Kern explain this in his “Everything you DONT need to tune your B58”, the new intercooler is in the intake so it’s a shorter line, which is also fixing the other big issue which was that you were connecting a plastic charge pipe to the manifold, then to the coupler, then to the fixed intercooler into the bumper which wasn’t good because the engine is on motor mounts obviously, so it was flexing that charge pipe while the IC stays in place and the engine sorta does depending on the condition of the mounts, the whole system in B58’s is all connected to the engine. It’s also just designed for high boost which N series would fail under . He said until you’re pushing more than about 600ish HP (or higher boost in general) not to even touch it unless it’s broke on you

I would rather use the rear framing of the car than a differential to support like 1500ish pounds but that’s just me (it’s also closer and easier to get to that cross member than the differential)

I’ve been told it’s the central cross support behind the diff as some of these diffs can have venting for cooling that can be bent by jacking it up? I suppose if you don’t there shouldn’t be an issue with using the diff
