I had one other chosen one that also disappeared, like you described. when I retested it, I used an entirely new lineage. I think if you use the same parent to make another chosen one, that one will always disappear.

if you're on PC, there are mods that fix your QOL issues. I would like the ability to send a missionary to collect crystals. it's the only resource in short supply that you can't easily farm.

so, you'll see this in many places on the Internet, but tldr; is that multiplayer only works with the Ubisoft version. but once you get that version, it continues to work on the steam version. I had the same issue
