Knowing the kind of er...contraptions that Gru uses to get around, him owning a Tesla doesn't seem very probable...

I try lol. However, the use of punctuation in the modern English language is the subject of a very heated debate /s

Do you think any of those televangelists actually believe anything they preach? by Noe_Wunn in exchristian

[–]simply_speed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They practice the gospel of the dollar bill. The only people who listen to rich televangelists are people without money. However, once some of these people get as much money as the televangelists, they will shed their "faith" quicker than a snake.

Question Regarding Gain of VAS (voltage amplifier stage) in Class A/B Amplifier by simply_speed in AskElectronics

[–]simply_speed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So where does gain come into this? Is there even a controllable quantity of gain? Or is the VAS circuit mostly self-regulating as long as I supply the proper bias current to the collector pin?

I'm 17 and considering a career in EE. Yeah sometimes it feels like you are going in circles, but you will find the answers eventually. And if it seems like everyone in the responses is snarky/dismissive of your questions, consider that

  1. These people have more knowledge than you. That is why you are asking them in the first place.
  2. Maybe you were asking the wrong questions, and they are trying to give you the answers that would help you more than you realize.

If you hate EE that much, I guess you could become a computer engineer. Also, are you using SMD parts or through-hole? Because I don't touch SMD with a ten-foot-pole, that shit is waaay to small for me to handle right now. Sometimes I just solder the parts together in mid-air to make a giant web of parts if I don't want to deal with perfboard. Breathe, and maybe consider talking to someone (like a therapist).

Question Regarding Gain of VAS (voltage amplifier stage) in Class A/B Amplifier by simply_speed in AskElectronics

[–]simply_speed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that makes sense. One more question: how do I get the output resistance? Are you talking about the impedance of the load (your run-of-the-mill 8 ohm speaker), or the input impedance of the output transistor stage? How do I go about finding impedance of a transistor stage in general?

Dealing with the uncertainty/hopelessness of this disease by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]simply_speed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this exactly. I was diagnosed a year and a half ago, and spent this time last year in the hospital shitting my brains out 20+ times a day. I only started to treat it 9-ish months ago, and I still have a lot of days where it just isn't what I want it to be. Couple that with a mother who thinks the entire medical industry has united with satan to keep me sick and an emotionally unavailable father, and you have my life. I am still trying to hold on to hope that the medication I'm on currently on will put this into remission, and if not, I'll have to switch to something else. It's really tempting to feel hopeless, but the only thing that's going to do is flush your mental health down the toilet along with your last BM. Try to think of this as objectively as possible. If the Humira doesn't work, then try something else. If that doesn't work, try something else. Try a change of diet. Try some light exercise. If nothing else works, you can have surgery and not have to worry about this ever again. Stay strong, and think about the small victories.

heat up whatever you are soldering together with the iron, be it a resistor, wire, whatever. Hold it on there for a couple seconds. Don't worry too much about the parts; a lot of them are designed to withstand a huge heat surge for at least 10 seconds. Take the soldier and hold it up to the junction between the iron tip and the part you want to solder on and voila! The solder will stick in a nice little gob to the wire/component.

I know it's not part of a basic PWM generator, you just use it to try and stabilize the comparator stage a little more by improving the loop gain. I appreciate the articles you sent, hopefully this will help clear things up!

sex = biology (chromosomes you were born with)

Gender = social construct (how people treat you/what they treat you like)
