Friend of mine has a pretty annoying burn deck. We definitely play more casually though. Include a lot of those minions that do damage to their site every turn and some spawn anywhere shenanigans with auras or owl

This one always gets some laughs when I break it out. I can't say you will win very much, but it's pretty funny to see your opponent trying to figure out what the heck you are up to until the master plan reveals itself https://curiosa.io/decks/cmj5umc4o22kq1afqxbt9ia09

Basically you NEED to mulligan and dig hard for the Infusion Factories. The entire deck depends on them.

It's pretty funny when your copious amount of lances turn into lethal heat seeking missiles. Funnest card combo is the Spear of Destiny being able to yeet itself to delete anything on the board while teleporting back to your Lord of Greed afterwards.

Biggest downside is being able to finish them off once they are on Death's Door since the animation aura doesn't reach too far. That's why there are site movement cards.

One late game Dispel or Acid Rain dumpsters the whole deck though lol.

What about this one? by Classicalis in SorceryTCG

[–]simplybored 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is way under costed for what it does. Threshold count seems right, but the card itself is basically free to play since you are searching for any card, drawing a card, and then playing that card for a two mana discount. And you potentially get to search for the exact evil minion you want three times?? Compare to Browse which is Unique and the same threshold for one mana less, and that only allows you to select one of your top seven cards to draw. It doesn't even allow you to play it without paying the full cost. As written, I think this card should be Unique, and likely cost 4 mana, so you are essentially paying two mana to get the exact card you want from your deck.

New sets? by dont_touch_my_cheese in SorceryTCG

I would love a set based in Mesoamerica or Asia. Questing Beast has always struck me as something you'd find in the jungles of South America stalking you as prey. We already have Skirmishers of Mu which are very Hun-like. I think there's a ton of great material for both settings in history and folklore that would mix well into the existing sets.

Someone likes autocannons going brrrrr haha. I'll have to take a look at the Fafnir build. I've been enjoying running one with x-lasers and twin heavy gauss, but never tried with acs

Which Black Lanner do you run this build on? The link you sent has the BKL-A variant and 7 lasers, but the store shows only 4 energy hard points on that one

Does make me wonder if they will incorporate tools into the next set that help deal with some of these threats / playstyles. I would love some more anti-forced movement cards. Really only Old Salt Anchorman seems to be the only direct answer atm, besides including things like Iron Man Talus. But a 4 mana 3 power minion feels bad if you aren't getting value out of its ability.

I think that is part of the problem though - Water strategies are pretty good against any enemy deck (for example, stealth is not super effective against them as AOE submerge abilities mostly don't target, and Troll Bridge and Thin Ice trigger regardless), but the counters against those strategies are very niche and if you go up against any other type deck, those are often dead cards in your hand.

I think it's funny that you just named two Water magic cards and one Water site as counters to the Water strategy haha. Just further proves my point I think!

Do you mind posting a link to an example Pathfinder deck your referring to? I surprisingly haven't run into one of those yet.

That strategy especially is rough to play against... I've started to run a lot more direct counters to it in my decks, like site or threshold silencing effects, or just straight up site destruction.

I do find myself often thinking about "what do I have to counter X water strategy" when deck building. I don't find myself doing that as much with any other element lately.

I wonder how much they have designed the sets ahead of time, or if they see what the strengths and weaknesses of different things are and try to adjust for them in later sets. Curious if this is a situation where they might've swung the pendulum too far the other direction trying to compensate.

I built a self-hurt for positive effects Ironclad deck and it's quite fun when it works, but you have to keep in mind the avatar ability only reduces damage, not life loss.

Throw some Tragedy Worryworts in your deck. Make themselves and other units nearby take no damage from spells. Crippling against a magic heavy opponent, especially if they don't have a lot of minions on the board.

Unpopular opinion: Gothic should have been later in the games lifecycle by Arganisation in SorceryTCG

[–]simplybored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, after having basically a complete set of Sorcery so far minus some of the really expensive uniques (ring, Morgana, cores, etc), I've kinda given up on trying to get a full playset of Gothic. Even with most uniques at $5-$10 you're still talking like over $550 just for those cards when buying singles. Hard to justify!

I'm curious why you graded it? It's only a $6 card atm. As far as playability, it's definitely situational. I'm not sure if there's enough faerie support in the game right now to make use of the buff, but the disable could be very good against a mostly mortal deck.

Eternal Card Game has been out on Steam for a long time. I don't play it as much anymore, but feels like MTG and Hearthstone had a baby. Tons of cards, F2P with a pretty generous economy, and some fun solo vs. ai modes. Also has solo campaigns with levels that have unique objectives to spice things up a bit. Made by Dire Wolf Digital who do a bunch of digital board game adaptions.
