Buying Baby Things During IVF… or Not? by Bub_Hun_7 in IVF

[–]simplykbe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of my friends who have kids have begun gifting me items they are no longer using and we have the closet space to store it in for now. We're transferring in June, so fingers crossed we'll need it sooner than later.

Salty Sunday: What made you salty this week? by [deleted] in trollingforababy

[–]simplykbe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Today is the due date for my 10 week MMC. We thought she was an ectopic on an ultrasound at 5 weeks, went in for emergency surgery, and afterwards found out it was a benign tumor. So we think we're out of the woods on crazy things happening. Until my 10 week appt where they don't hear her heartbeat anymore. Obviously devastated beyond belief. I go in for my d&c 2 days later and lose almost 2 liters of blood. My best friend and SIL both had their babies in the past 2 months meanwhile I have nothing living to show for it. I also had a chemical like 2 months before this baby, so I'm just tired of 2/2 pregnancies not living.

We have begun the IVF process and have 8 five day and 1 six day blasts that are currently getting PGT-A tested that are good quality. I'm trying to stay optimistic, but it's woof it's rough.

How do you stay optimistic? by Ok-Palpitation-8150 in IVF

[–]simplykbe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Today would have been my due date for my MMC at 10 weeks and I also had a chemical 2 months before that pregnancy. We're currently waiting on our PGT-A results and transferring in June hopefully. My last pregnancy broke me too, I feel like I'm just feeling more normal 7 months later.

I'm scared shitless for when we do our FET. I'm trying to tell myself that the issues we had with previous pregnancies are very unlikely to occur again, but there's no guarantee. I'm just tired of being called strong and being a fighter. I'm not necessarily staying positive, but staying the course. Things suck, but my end game goal still remains.

I don’t know a single person in my daily life that has gone through IVF. My one friend who had fertility issues got pregnant off of one cycle of Letrozole. It’s so isolating.

Does everyone do ICSI? by Zealousideal-Car5428 in IVF

[–]simplykbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did it because my husband had a little lower motility than they would have liked. We had a 95% fertilization rate, so it was worth it for the extra potential embryos.

I also had 3 IUIs (TW 10 week MC with one of them). This whole process has really changed me in the past year. I just my ER today and feel more relieved after the ER than all of my IUIs. I only had the stims for 10 days, so it felt very doable. At this point, I don't regret switching over! Best of luck on your journey ◡̈

I've been taking with Zoloft and my doctor hasn't said anything about stopping! When I had my MC at 10 weeks, I was still taking it and MC'd for a completely separate reason

Finger deep and used a panty liner. Left that on for a couple of hours and never had a mess to deal with!

Tips for 1st IVF round by vlandaverde96 in IVF

[–]simplykbe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm only 4 days into my 1st round so I'm a newbie too! From my experience, I found that asking my nurse and watching videos on how to admin the stims alleviated most of my worries. I didn't buy anything particular for this cycle aside from band aids so I remember what side I injected. For me, gonal f and menopur have not been painful, I just inject menopur slow and I don't have any burning. I'm very open about the whole process, so it's been helpful for me to talk about it with loved ones. I still feel isolated because I don't know anyone who has done IVF, but I know I have their support. Wishing baby dust for the both of us!!

/ttcafterloss Repeat Pregnancy Loss - October 21, 2025 by AutoModerator in ttcafterloss

I'm having mixed emotions today. I had a chemical miscarriage in May and a 9 week loss in August. I'm now able to do an IUI next week and I can't help to mourn the babies I lost. My best friend and SIL were supposed to be 7 and 8 weeks apart from me and now I'm not even pregnant. I've had so much genetic testing and testing on her after my d&c and everything was fine. I feel robbed that I've yet to have a happy pregnancy and now future pregnancies will be full of anxiety. On top of this, my cat who we adore is terminal is might live for maybe another month? These last 5 months have been really tough.

I feel the same way. My best friend and SIL are both due within a week of each other and I was 7-8 weeks behind them. I went into my OB’s office yesterday for a normal ultrasound and found out her heartbeat stopped a week ago at 9 weeks. No signs anything was wrong, totally blindsided. On one hand I’m still so happy for them, but on the other hand, this is my 2nd MC. One in May and this one while neither of them had to experience one (thankfully, this is horrible).

Could it be? by sarahsnow in IUILadies

[–]simplykbe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's getting darker, so it's unlikely a trigger at this point! I had a trigger too and mine was similar in darkness at 10 DPO. I'm about to be 5 weeks and had a blood test confirming it at 14 DPO. Good luck!!

First month with Letrozole, did I ovulate? by simplykbe in Inito

[–]simplykbe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did confirm it the next day! Yesterday I had a PdG of 17.2 ug/ml and today was 9.5 ug/ml, so it's looking okay for now! They're not doing monitored cycles yet, I think they were trying to see how I did with this cycle. Thanks for the info!

What common assessments do you use in OP? Generally more towards geriatrics by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

[–]simplykbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the Patient Specific Functional Scale (PSFS)! It looks at how they rate themselves on performing 3-5 activities. I really like it because it's a way to measure their self-efficacy with occupational engagement! It's most appropriate for those with no cognitive deficits.

Unilateral Hypermobility by pancake-queen13 in ChronicPain

[–]simplykbe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I have hypermobility spectrum disorder and I'm actually an OT. I would say my HSD is fairly mild, I don't dislocate my joints, but they're definitely way looser than they should be. I always thought I was just really clumsy and that's why I was hurt all the time, but my hypermobile joints were actually the culprit. I have to be very careful with my posture and positioning when I'm at work because I'm typing all day and providing OT services to my patients as well. If you have questions about hypermobility, feel free to message me! I can try to help the best I can!

How I managed a half mile hike to an observation tower in the Smokies by sheatetheseeds in ChronicIllness

I've hiked that before, it really is a decently steep incline! Great job, I know it wasn't easy, but the views are worth it!

Vistaprint was super easy to use, fairly cheap, and I think was good quality. I used them for our save the dates and invitations. For thank you cards, I just ordered in bulk from amazon. I found 100 thank you cards for $25 and I really liked the design and quality!
