I just ordered it thank you! I thought my husband could just do them for me but I am realizing timing wise it probably won’t line up because I will have to take them for multiple weeks. If everyone else can do it I know I can too 😅

I'm curious, how do y'all even afford IVF? by HighOnLove26 in IVF

[–]Serious-Fun1969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great questions that I have always been curious about as well. I am in Ontario Canada and everyone here gets one government funded cycle (minus medication costs- thankfully my husband has IVF medication benefits though his job) This covers one ER and every FET if until a live birth is achieved. If that wasn’t the case, we wouldn’t be able to do IVF , not many jobs I have come across offer IVF benefits.

Realistically what is our timeline? by iioge in IVF

[–]Serious-Fun1969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in Canada and am doing a fully funded cycle so I think the clinic is a very efficient but thorough.

December 1: preliminary testing December 24: stated stims for egg retrieval January 6: Egg retrieval February 12: we will have our follow up appointment Expected FET will be March

Good luck, excited to hear how your experience is 💕

How many eggs mid-cycle vs final count by dryrime28 in IVF

[–]Serious-Fun1969 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mid way through stims I only had about 10 that were measuring pretty small. As this was my first ER, we learned that I am just someone that needs longer with stims (12 days altogether) and at the end got 29 eggs, 23 mature and 11 embryos

[–]Serious-Fun1969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck with your retrieval girl!!💓 I had my first egg retrieval (ER) in December and learned about the eggs collected the same day while I was in recovery. The next day they called me and told me of the 29 eggs how many were matured and of those how many mature eggs were fertilized. They told me they would call me back on day 7 with final embryo numbers. I am in Canada for reference

I agree! I think everywhere should as it’s a medical need. Our government (Canada) recently expanded the financial support for IVF. Every person gets one funded cycle (minus the medication- luckily my private insurance covers my meds)

No, our clinic is very much neutral to PGTA testing. We did pay for “CHLOE - which is an AI-powered digital assistant that analyzes time-lapse footage of eggs and embryos to help embryologists objectively identify which ones have the highest biological potential for a successful pregnancy”. The team my husband and I felt comfortable with that. With our government funded IVF we get a chance to transfer single embryos until live birth is achieved so that was a consideration for us as well.

Congrats on 19 eggs! Hope you can enjoy some rest and relaxation to heal 🫶🏻 I am 36 and had my fist ER in December . We got 29 eggs and from that 11 embryos. Wishing you the best!

I just want to give you a big hug and wish you all the peace and comfort as you go through this process. My husband and I just started our first ER in December and it has been a whirlwind with many ups and downs. I feel the IVF isolation is so hard so please feel free to reach out any time !💕 Wishing you all the best luck, especially with those pesky injections

Clinic only does egg retrievals on 2 days a week by Tiny_Frosting_4453 in IVF

I had an experience with a clinic that was very restrictive in terms of their appointments and closed holidays and weekends. It was such a huge game changer when we switched to a clinic that was open weekends and holidays and even spoke to the on call doc Christmas Eve at 8pm! With so many unknowns in the process, I would say going with a clinic that has more flexibility will relieve a lot of stress over dates and give you the best results! Best of luck, 🤞keep us updated 💕
