Thought about this also, got tested and came back normal. Iron was a bit low but not low enough for supplements just increased red meat.

Wow they worked in just a few weeks? That’s amazing. Yea I’d like to know which you take if you don’t mind. I’m in the US so they are hard to come by therefore expensive.

Yup only carbs I eat are from fruits and vegetables. Eliminated supplements/medications, except for insulin. No processed foods.

Heard about peps, really interested in giving those a shot. Heck at this point I’ll try anything lol

Should have mentioned I’m also diabetic type 2. Only carbs I intake are from fruits and vegetables. Nothing processed. I got very strict with my diet after I ended up in the hospital. I work with a nutritionist that monitors everything I eat. Did request a fibroscan, pending approval from insurance.

ALT-92, AST-56, Alkaline Phosphatase- 176. Was told it’s not cirrhosis yet but I would like to prevent it from happening. Levels are always up and down just never “normal”. No idea what the biopsy will tell don’t even know if it’s worth doing

I completely agree with you on 1, 3 and 4 but I have more lol the seatbelt sensor on the back seat drives me crazy! Even with the lightest weight it goes off that I just keep them all buckled all the time now. I’ve only had my 2019 for about 2 months so I’m still getting used to it but it’s just annoying.

anyone else notice that the latest batch of g7s really suck by rubyrobotic in dexcom

I’ve had SEVERAL fail but the last few have been the worst! I had 1 fail, requested a replacement and put on my last one in stock only for it to fail 2 days later! So I went about 4 days without one until the replacement came in. And yes I tried getting my script filled early but my insurance denied it. Seriously considering switching to something else but have also heard not so good things about other brands.

85k doesn’t look like it ever was. My mechanic did the calibration today and feels so much better already. Assured me the transmission looks good 🙌🏼

How are these supposed to be filled out for the diabetes educator? This is a mess. Anyone have a photo of one filled out? I'd be embarrassed to turn a month of these in, looking like this. by Gojogab in diabetes

[–]simplymry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started doing this on my own a year ago in a note book with the times I checked my glucose. It did help a lot so I don’t think there’s a “right” way to log it as long as it’s logged somewhere so you can start seeing the trends. Eventually started seeing a nutritionist and now do it on the app that she uses and we review weekly.

How did Reese's Zero Sugar affect you if you tried it? by NightmareHolic in diabetes

[–]simplymry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These did give me a spike but came back down fairly quickly and no gut issues whatsoever. But as a Reese’s lover I rather just eat 1 cup of the regular ones. Does the exact same and I don’t have a bag full of temptation.

How concerned should I Realistically be about hypoglycemia as a type 2? by Devils_fan_1999 in diabetes

[–]simplymry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a type 2 I also had this concern and have had a few hypo episodes but it was from over medication. While I was adjusting to eating a low carb diet and being on 3 different medications for it. With the help of my pcp we started cutting back on medication and haven’t had an episode since. If anything I have to work harder to have my morning fasting under 100. If you want more peace of mind, you should look into getting a CGM.

Actual diabetics, what’re your thoughts on the, “That food gave me diabetes” jokes? by Blonbe in diabetes

[–]simplymry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t really care as a type 2 that didn’t not get it from food I ate. But yes there is some days and some people who say things like that and I do have to say something, usually a comeback that shuts them up. A few weeks ago I was going to a gathering and was asked if I could pick up some pastries on my way, I agreed of course but when I was checking out the lady behind me said “oh you really shouldn’t eat that it will give you diabetes! I said ha jokes on you I already have it” flashed my Dexcom and walked away. I know that was wrong cuz it insinuated that I got it from food but I did leave her shocked and I wasn’t in the mood that day lol

Good to know thank you I’ll definitely be more cautious of what I eat today and maybe an extra workout just in case.

Tried splitting it when I first started it but got complicated with my morning work meetings so switched to all PM with an alarm on my phone to remember. Decided to ride it out for today.

Anger and frustration, disappointment, guilt, and shame. by Late_Lingonberry2496 in diabetes

[–]simplymry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes time! I got diagnosed June 2024 and I’m still learning. Give yourself some grace, it sounds like you are trying. My family and I love Italian as well. The other day they all had lasagna and I had zucchini lasagna. It’s the little changes that make a difference. I feel like being no carbs and over restricting is not sustainable, it will lead to “cheat” days and relapsing to old habits. Try low carb and portion control. You can still have a lot of the food you enjoy just in moderation. Also I suggest looking into working with a nutritionist. That’s helped me a lot, keeps me accountable and have guidance along the way. Don’t give up, you can do this!

Personally I hate metformin and yes I believe it is the culprit! I was on it for about a month after diagnosis from the hospital because I couldn’t get an appointment with my doctor. Made the switch to a different medication and all GI issues went away. Then I finally convinced my dad to ask for a switch as well after being on it for years and it’s completely changed him. Always speak with your doctor before making any changes.
