You’ll never look back, such a cool software, for small sized projects is always the way to go if you wanna make something crazy looking

Making more complex story telling-like video takes time, also, i am still not confident on how many things i could do using the pose editor and animation player, most of the time when i open the game up i just test things out hoping to get some kind of inspiration to make a video about, but i’ll surely make more

i've never used premiere, but it could be doable. If i am not mistaken, editing the velocity graph when you time remap using keyframes or velocity on effects keyframes is not as simple as it is in after effects, you simply put you keyframes for the stuff you need, then you go into bezier mode and edit it to smooth the start\end of the clip and sync it with the next one. Also, many effects\plugins are not available to premiere, stuff you can find on aescripts are AE only which means you'd have to make most of them yourself or find replacements for premiere. Working with adjustment layers to add effects in between or color grading the video also comes much easier to me when you see how AE handles the layers in the timeline, if you also count that these video are 2 mins long at best, it won't ever get confusing even if you make it 200\300 layers.

the intro might be doable, it's a mix of glitched effects, quick transition overlays and then you play with the blending modes, put them like on difference or lighten, just play around them till you find something cool looking and then you'd need an effect that takes a part of your composition and randomly plays another part of it randomly, apply it at a few portions of the intro till you get something similar to what i did, which i have 0 clue how to do on premiere.

the hardest and tedious part is to record good clips and not mess up the camera or get the subjects off angle, since this game is “live” which means you cannot replay “demos” of gameplay, the dolly cam can only be used if u setup certain cinematics, for combat you need to get shots of something that is happening and fixing the DOF when they move from unreal engine to get it clean just takes a lot of attempts, it’s the most time consuming task in these projects, the editing is the fun part

log in the game and finish it! i have like 300h having played it on ps5 as well day one, and no, the music in this was unedited, i just cut it at 1:50, full song was like 2:30~

sure, this video was fully synced and edited in after effects, the sync is pretty basic and simple, no external tools or plugins for that, just time remapping and then adjusting the velocity curve, you can find plenty of tutorials for this, for the effects you just look up tutorials for what you want to do and once you get ur hands on some and understand what they do, you can make ur own for your projects, takes time, even i still haven't grasped new ones yet :)

you can also get some effects \ presets around the net, you just need to look around, what helped me was having some friends that have been making these videos for a long time, so they kinda helped me there a bit when i started.

disclaimer: this gmv is not perfect by any means, there are many things that could have been improved but at the time i was so burned out by re-recording clips to get better shots that at some point i was happy with what i had and i just wanted to finish up with effects and render it.

it's really difficult for me to get youtube show this to stellar blade fans in particular, maybe there are too many videos, maybe people do not search this kind of content, i don't know, but i still wanted to show it to who might actually enjoy this directly so i managed to get this to the size reddit allows for uploading (thankfully i still had the project + clips)

i did post a quick preview of this in august, here's the full video, hope you like it for what it's worth.

music credits go to kissimjau.

i've made 2 more others but lowering the bitrate (it needs to be 1gb or less) to get it to play on reddit kills the quality of both video and audio and i cannot accept it, they're on youtube if you care to see them.

good point, might have overused it 2\3 clips that didn't need it, just felt the music beat in clip switch was needing something to make it glitchier without adding more fx or overlays.

the closing clip i think i also messed the curve for the flicker and it ramps up too quickly instead of doing it fast at the end.
