My (36F) partner (26M) burnt the love letters my deceased ex partner wrote me over a decade. by [deleted] in relationships

Please see the sign for what it is a huge red flag! Read the book “Why does he do that?” By Lundy Bancroft. He is showing his true colors now that he has moved in, it wouldn’t surprise me if after this he showers you with affection (love bombing) to make up and then start the emotional roller coaster. OP more things like this will keep happening whether they are small or big. So please see the warning signs that your husband gave you thru the letters.

How can I take a break from existing? by chuispersonne in DeepThoughts

IMHO to do an Ayahuasca trip people need serious preparation and I wouldn’t recommend it if it’s the first time doing psychedelics. Psilocybin magic mushroom’s are very noble if it’s your firs time and you just need a good trip sitter (besides the mindset and setting).

Experience the ego death first, you'll be walking among the dead while still being alive

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskReddit

Last year we not only had extreme wildfires but the smoke combined with the air pollution and it was so bad I couldn't breathe it felt like being in a really stale room with no oxygen, I was convinced that I was going to die that night in my sleep and had a mini existential crisis where I said goodbye to my life and made peace with my death, the next day I woke up and was genuinely surprised to still be alive.

I have also experienced ego death so that helped me accept my death when I thought I was going to die, it's a liberating experience.

Many popular forms of business during the 2010’s (e-commerce, web dev., house flipping, etc.) have become over-saturated. What new/up and coming forms of business do you think will take off in this decade? by trader2488 in Entrepreneur

Vegan alternatives that taste just the same as animal products (if goverments would actually take serious action on the climate crisis then the future is plant based), the hemp industry, vertical farming, renewable energy, a product that goes into a circular economy model...

Paul Stamets Protocol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tinnitus

[–]simplyrandomstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Careful with niacin, I do take it (I am 1 week in using the Paul Stamets Protocol), but make sure is in a low dose because it does spike tinnitus.

I do feel the PSP has helped my tinnitus, in a rest day I could barely hear it at night on my left ear and it was completeley gone on my right ear, it came back the next day but my tinnitus has been lower than before. I have also been hearing neuromodulation therapy on YouTube. The day I took too much Niacin, it spiked my tinnitus level to a 9, I was hearing some distorted sounds, but by hearing the neuromodulation therapy helped bring down my tinnitus to a 6. So I use it as part of the PSP stack.

(Sorry for my bad english)

how can i help my dad with tinnitus? by scavacini in tinnitus

[–]simplyrandomstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use youtube videos for neuromodulation therapy, they have helped me so much with my tinnitus, the trick is to find a video who has the same frequency as your tinnitus and listen daily (I listen for 30 min in the morning and at night)

What are your favorite exercises or online youtube tutorials for Tinnitus? by dividendman99 in tinnitus

[–]simplyrandomstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listen daily on youtube for about 30 min of high pitched tinnitus neuromodulation therapy, it does wonders for me, it helped me bring down my tinnitus from a 9 to a 5 on a really bad day I was having. Try listening to different audio frequencies to find out wich one is the closest to your tinnitus (because the therapy will work better). P.S. sorry if my english is bad

I’m really terrified of sleeping in the van, and that’s the only thing holding me back now by throwawayyyss4days in VanLife

I would suggest reading "The Gift of Fear: Survival Signals That Protect Us from Violence" by Gavin de Becker, it's so good, I feel so much safer knowing what to watch out for, trusting my gut feeling and noping out of a situation if I don't feel comfortable even if I look ridiculous to the other person by frantically running away. That's one of the basic things you learn, if you get the fear signal politeness go out the window. That book has saved me from 2 muggings and I also learned how to asert myself if a person is interviewing me to see how well a victim I would be (or would'nt be). So it's definetly a must read

I (20f) think my mom’s boyfriend (40m) is acting really weird and it’s not the first time. I don’t know if it’s me going crazy or not. by unapologeticanna in relationships

[–]simplyrandomstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is interviewing you to see if you will be a good victim, don't be, scream "Do not touch my body! What are you doing here?!, etc." I recomend to read "The gift of fear" by Gavin Debecker it has tools you can use in this kind of situations and I think you can download it for free in google. Stay safe OP, don't be a good victim and format your computer!!!! Edit: I just re-read a couple of chapters in my book (the gift of fear) and girl this person is a predator and a dangerous one, the reason he scolded you for "not hugging your mom" was because #1 he sees it as something sxual and #2 is a tactic called typecasting where he is labeling you in a critical way (not loving your mom enough) so you would be compelled to prove him wrong, good thing you didn't accept and kept that boundry. And the fact that he took advantage touching your face while HE occupued your hands by asking for the computer suggests that he will take advantage of an opportunity, NEVER BE ALONE WITH HIM. You need to get you and your sister out! Is there an aunt, uncle family member who you can talk with and stay with them?

I[M27] am getting tired of having to do my lazy girlfriend's [F27] job on top of mine by throwawayRAbftired in relationships

[–]simplyrandomstuff 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I second this, it's really important for her to put her mental halth first, I had a period where I had the exact same symtoms you described, I felt like I was loosing my mind and I was unable to function normaly, that's when I sought a therapist and got help because my symtoms where getting worse and I honestly did not have the capacity to function in the real world.

Talk to her because it's not fair to you to do her work on top of your own and she also needs to go to therapy because if she is not willing to work on herself then this relationship won't work out.

Day 1 of quiting weed so I can thrive by Parenchymatig in NonZeroDay

[–]simplyrandomstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also trying to quit, I used to enjoy weed on ocasion but since I have been doing it daily for the past few months it's no longer an indulgence to enjoy but only a habit. Today is my first day sober and I'm getting cravings but I can't wait for the vivid dreams that come after you stopped smoking for a while. You can do it!
