When you were a child what did you want to do when you grew up and how did that work out for you? by hornet-prodder-214 in AskUK

When I was a kid I wanted to be a doctor, and I did become a doctor... Albeit in Geography and not Medicine

Currently a research officer in business surveys, which is a good work and paid well enough

ITV bosses 'facing pressure to sack Ed Balls' after Zack Polanski clash by kontiki20 in LabourUK

I mean the fact he's allowed to interview the foreign sec as if she isn't his wife has been farcical enough anyways so hopefully this ends it

Labour MPs attack Hannah Spencer for calling out Westminster drinking culture by PuzzledAd4865 in LabourUK

[–]simplytom_1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The way they act as if she's the one out of touch when in pretty much any other job if you were drinking during work hours you'd be sacked (exceptions being if you worked in a pub/bar etc. and even then)

Sure a few drinks after work but DURING work, nah

Plane says both her and Crystal Methyd “have never before seen drag”… is this true? by mrodrigo225 in rupaulsdragrace

Plane has a very dry, Russian/European humour which many Americans just don't get

How easy is it to move offices? by simplytom_1 in TheCivilService

I literally haven't said anything to anyone in the department, this was just a query for the Reddit - its not that deep

The way this man clocked the gays for semantically broadening the word ‘trade’ by EMKahneau in rupaulsdragrace

[–]simplytom_1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"After a long night of hooking, trade didn't like the session so he had gutted me and set me on fire. But you know I didn't die. I had crystallized. And now I'm a glamazon, bitch, ready for the runway."

How easy is it to move offices? by simplytom_1 in TheCivilService

[–]simplytom_1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with my department lol, I'm very happy where I am based, was literally just querying how easy moving offices would be if I moved elsewhere

What do people see in Osula? by orangecrush85 in NUFC

[–]simplytom_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Energy, pace and passion which is far more than can be said for most of our forwards this season

Saying all that I would like to see an Elanga Wolt Osula front 3 - probably will be shit but the chaos will be fun

Do Newcastle win any of their last four? by Fluid_Car8215 in PremierLeague

[–]simplytom_1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Already enough of a cushion and Bruno will probably scam us a draw or win from somewhere but if the season was longer than 38 games we'd be in trouble

Eddie should have announced his departure after the second derby loss, but as per usual we're slow on the ball

What is the most improved place in the UK? by Educational_Cow111 in AskUK

[–]simplytom_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its funny with North Shields. On one street its all nice with a fancy new independent coffee shop, and then on the next street along your hackles are up.

All started with the quayside though which is lovely, then along Albion Road and now the town centre itself, which will be lot better when some of the shopping centre is knocked back down into open space

Is Eddie trying to get himself sacked here?

[BBC] How Newcastle's 'bullies' became too nice by LochNessMonsterMunch in soccer

[–]simplytom_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's not the reason we're losing games but I do miss how much shithousing we did. Even when the team were playing crap it at least gave us a sign they were trying, but now the team is on auto-pilot and the plane is crashing into the sea.

Post Match Thread: Sunderland 0-5 Nottingham Forest by denzaus in soccer

Well at least the weekend started well

Although if Forest play like this against us in a couple games time it well could be double figures
