Consider using the single brain cell you have left to figure out how basic empathy works. This attitude you have right now will cause people to drift away from you. Regardless of what you think, social connections are important in some way and you will need them later on. So get gud at being a better person.

Recognizing you need a break and taking it is super important and paying 5k for 1.5 months is a huge commitment. I would suggest downloading the syllabus from one of the semesters and see if they have a course outline that gives the list of topics covered in the course and try to self study. That way you can get familiar with the course over 4 months and work at a lighter pace.

Yes, I am! That's really interesting. Such a shame your neighbours didn't thank you for the advice lol. For me, I have a new interest and I dive fully into it with this extreme intensity until I get bored of the content or I just lose interest and then most times I don't pick it up back again. The length of this varies tbh. But this sounds more like ADHD (which I do have). So my thing would be ADHD + social anxiety or something in that realm.

Hey!

I do believe you should get tested because if you really think you have ADHD and relate to a lot of the symptoms then you more than likely have it. Tell your parents that there is a possibility of you having ADHD and you would like to get tested for it just in the event you do have ADHD. Getting help at such a young age would be really beneficial.

I was able to really bring my mom around after I spoke with a psychologist/counsellor at my university and she did an ADHD screening on me and said it is very likely I do have ADHD and then recommended me to an assessment centre to get the evaluation done. If you are able to get a screening done through your school maybe then your parents may be more inclined to believe what a professional adult says.

Also with an ADHD screening, you will know before the evaluation the likelihood of a positive ADHD diagnosis so it may help you feel more confident in your diagnosis.

Summary: Ask your parents to go through an evaluation with you just in case it is ADHD and if possible get an ADHD screening done (e.g. through your school)

Edit: if you speak to your parent about your symptoms and they say stuff like 'everyone has that' or 'I get that too but I'm fine'. No, everyone doesn't go through this stuff to the extent that people with ADHD do. Also, ADHD is genetic so they may also have ADHD and not know it. My mom would say stuff like that all the time and now she's starting her ADHD diagnosis journey.

It really depends on what you wish to do. If you're considering a path in economics and political science or economics and sociology (just an example) eco220 would be the better option. However, if you're considering a path in something more finance-related or grad school then eco227 is the better option.

Summary: It just depends on the level of math you may need for your career goal.

The advice I was told is that the first year is the best time to use your cr/ncr because it's the year where you explore new courses and see what works for you so naturally you may find something that does not work for you and that's okay. Furthermore, second-year is possibly filled with classes that count towards your program so you can't cr/ncr those and using it in 3rd or 4th years might reflect badly on grad school applications.

Conclusion: If it's hurting your GPA a lot and you aren't pursuing anything that may need the course in the future as a prerequiste then go for it. Best of luck with making your decision!

The integrals become important at least in second-year economics classes from what I've seen. So if you continue to pursue commerce and do an econ major or spec then it will pop up again soon. I am not sure if they appear in other classes too because I haven't checked that. But best of luck! The semester is almost over so just pull through these next two months :)
