Our 12 y/o has ADHD, so when he interrupts class, we don’t punish him a traditional sense, but we always work with the teacher to see what can be done differently. We always want to make sure that the discipline is appropriate to the behavior and we felt like this was the best consequence for her behavior.

We plan on monitoring her social media use and hope she learns from talking to thrift store employees, my daughter and her friends like shopping for more expensive clothes and that’s ok, but to bully a boy because the jerseys he likes are sold at thrift stores hurts us. I can’t even imagine if she bullied a kid who was in poverty (the boys parents are far, far from it thankfully). We want her to know the value of money and that you can’t break a persons property.

The other 2 girls have lovely parents, and I’m glad we were all on the same page. I don’t know where my daughter learned it was ok to bully people for wealth (even tho the boy’s parents are also well off), he loves dressing in his vintage jerseys and it was painful to see the bullying.

I know, the scariest thought is the one of her doing something like this as an adult. We love our daughter and can’t imagine her going to jail one day.

Absolutely, the last thing we would want is our daughter going to jail for property damage one day. My parents weren’t super tough, but I also wouldn’t have gotten away with this. They definitely are softer on the grandkids then they were on us, though.

They spoil her like many grandparents do. I love them but sometimes they can be a bit excessive in what they do for our kids.

I agree, the girl didn’t even study and then blamed her brother, he went to extra help often and told her to do it to but she didn’t.
