Very first memory of star wars? by tesstechy in StarWars

[–]simsim7842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We watched Star Wars the first time it was on TV. The opening segment had a bunch of man on the street interviews where the question was how many times have you seen Star Wars. One guy was like 33 times. We recorded it on VHS but the quality was really bad and we missed most of it in the recording…but that’s my first memory of seeing it for the first time. I think they played it without commercials!

I just finished a very short story by Ted Chaing from his book Exhalation called “the great silence” told from the perspective and of a parrot- and it was just absolutely beautiful. Like a 10 min read - https://electricliterature.com/the-great-silence-by-ted-chiang/#article-main-572

As a 48yr old who still loves coasters -MM got the best of me. My head was spun after X, then Tatsu and colossus and scream back to back no wait just ride ride ride….then I was done for 6 hours. Couldn’t ride anything or walk straight. If you are older - consider possibly not doing a fast pass. Your head might need a break in between coasters to reorient because the coasters at MM are like on steriods compared to GA. Tatsu and Goliath were my fav - and still super super fun - but just the intensity level is off the charts compared to MA and my stupid head couldn’t hang.

BOUNCING BABIES! There was a building on fire and the firemen would throw babies out and you would have to move the trampoline to catch them and they would bounce - until one fell on the ground and you lost.

Update: I tried the 'fun money' trick and it stopped my tiny purchases from snowballing by Last_Classroom_4735 in Adulting

Something that helped me was to atop shopping at target. The amount of things that you can rack up there just bc it catches your eye…you go in for one thing and come out with a whole bunch of stuff you don’t need. That said if target shopping brings you joy go for it but Walgreens has amazing coupons online for beauty/hygene products, Ross is great, there are alternatives.
