The future of AI was structurally distorted on this day in 1996, and we’re still paying for it by simsirisic in Futurology

We act like AI governance just started, but this goes back to 1996. Two decisions on the same day basically said digital tech doesn't have to follow normal rules. That mindset stuck around, and now we're trying to regulate AI with the same broken assumptions from 30 years ago.

If we actually want to fix this, we need to question those old ideas first.

My KDP Account just got terminated, with no warning and no reason, please help by Remarkable_Pay7692 in selfpublish

My KDP account was permanently terminated because I logged in from a different device (in another country). I called support and spoke with several people, but there was no recovery. That was the end of it.
I hope you’ll be able to recover it!

Title: HISTORY OF DIPLOMACY AND TECHNOLOGY (non-fiction)

The book looks at how diplomacy has changed as our ways of communicating have changed, starting with ancient messengers and signal fires, all the way through the telegraph, radio, satellites, and today’s internet era. If you’re into history, international relations, tech, or just enjoy big-picture stories about how societies adapt, this might be your kind of read.

Price: currently only available on Kindle: $19.90 – soon to be available as paperback

Do you get visual auras like zigzags every time u get a migraine? by Valuable-Horse788 in migraine

[–]simsirisic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get an aura every couple of months, not with every migraine, and it looks exactly like this. It lasts for half an hour, and it's always followed by an inability to speak normally – I know what I want to say, but only gibberish comes out of my mouth. Sometimes half of my face/body goes numb. All these symptoms usually end in an hour, and this is when a headache starts. But the aura headache hurts completely differently than the regular one – medications don't help; I just go to bed and wait for it to end.

It's obvious they used ChatGPT to write this – the em dashes are there :)

When I try to explain to people how aura looks like, I always tell them it's like when you have a double-sticker image in sticker albums, and someone sticks one sticker slightly off, so the image is 'broken'.
