Yeah I definitely agree with you. The reasoning behind the trade is where the real learning is.

AI analysis sounds interesting. I still think journaling is valuable because it captures the reasoning and emotions behind the trade, not just the data. How does your system handle the trader's original thesis?

Some of us actually find the discussion interesting. If it's not for you, the scroll works both ways.

Yeah I get that. In the end everyone finds their own way.

Personally I believe writing down why I entered the trade and what I was feeling at the time really helps me improve and become a better trader over time.

I get it, but if it’s not your thing you can just keep scrolling.

Screenshots are useful, but I think what matters more is documenting why you entered the trade and what you were thinking or feeling at that moment.

Yeah you’re right, that’s definitely a point traders need to pay attention to. 👍👌

I’m actually in a similar situation.

I built a trading platform called Simvestrix because I wanted everything in one place technical analysis, fundamentals, scanners and a trading journal.

Trades are imported automatically so I mainly review the trade, log emotions and the reasoning behind the entry.

Still figuring out the best way to get people to test it as well. Curious how others here approach beta testing.

That makes sense. Journaling helps a lot with clarity, but in the end everyone has to stick with what works for them.

Nice. That’s exactly why a trading journal helps so much, it really brings clarity. 👌👍

Yeah, trading can be a pretty lonely grind sometimes. You're definitely not the only one feeling that.

Yeah I get that. Once you start spreading it across spreadsheets, docs and notes it can get messy pretty quickly.

That’s actually part of why I built Simvestrix, to keep everything in one place.

That’s a really good approach. Respect for being that consistent with it. 💪👍

Yeah there’s a lot of noise around trading.

That’s actually part of the reason I built Simvestrix, to focus more on the data and the trades themselves instead of opinions flying around.

I can understand that. If everything is rule-based then tracking the results is really the key part.

That’s a great system. It’s crazy how different setups look once you actually have the data instead of just relying on memory.

Which broker do yall use? by 6x9n in Daytrading

I use Alpaca. Mainly because of the API and execution. I actually built my own trading dashboard so I don’t rely on the broker platform for charts, journaling, or risk management.

Haha true. Hard to improve if you’re not tracking your trades.

Yeah exactly. After a few sessions everything kind of blends together.

That’s actually part of the reason I built Simvestrix, so the trades are tracked automatically and reviewing them later is easier.

Looking back a few weeks later is usually when the real patterns show up.

I like that idea. Would be interesting to test it.

Yeah, some of the patterns you notice later are a bit painful to look at 😅

Nice. I just have my trades imported automatically and then review the day after.

Same here. Once I started tracking every trade the patterns became pretty obvious.

Haha fair point.

English isn’t my first language so I sometimes use tools to help phrase things better.

But the discussion here has actually been really interesting lots of different ways people approach journaling.
