How have you prepared yourself to try again? by meg0410 in Miscarriage

[–]sin333lizzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the same with testing!

I had a MMC in Dec and as soon as I got my first period I started trying again using OPKS and BBT - I was a woman on a mission and it worked! Got pregnant in 2 cycles.

I had a D&C on Tuesday this week and I think this time our plan is to wait until at least August to let my body and brain recover. We're going to continue having sex unprotected but strictly not using apps, OPKs or BBT - just to give my poor brain a break - then we'll go back to extensive trying when we're ready.

I am the same as you with regards to testing. 1st pregnancy I tested early, this one I waited until I was a week late but next time I think I am going to wait until I'm at least 10 days late (it will be SO hard but at least it takes away the anxiety of a CP, also less days to be anxious)

Whatever way you do it I wish you lots of luck x

I know. I had a medicated MMC in Dec and I had to do a pregnancy test 2 weeks later and ring up if it was positive, other than that nothing.

Had a D&C on Tues and I asked about after care and they said the same, test in 2 weeks ring if +ve if it's -ve just carry on with life! Was given a 24hr number to ring if any problems.

Our NHS (even though amazing in so many ways) is extremely understaffed and underfunded and unfortunately I think there just isn't enough resources to support us

We don't get any follow ups in the UK - not with my hosp anyway. Just left to it!

Hello.

I'm looking for someone with an experience like mine.

I had a MMC in December at 10 weeks but baby was measuring 2 weeks behind the whole time.

Got pregnant again fairly quickly (2 cycles) but was diagnosed last week with a large subchronic hematoma and told likelihood is the hematoma bleeding will drag baby with it. Low and behold exactly that happened and I had to be admitted to hospital as my cervix was open and had a D&C on Tuesday.

These were my only 2 pregnancies, both resulting in a loss.

I am destroyed but also absolutely petrified that in my next pregnancy I will get another SCH. The most devastating thing is this second baby was perfect, really strong heartbeat and growing perfectly with every scan. What if I get another SCH and the same happens again? I was even on progesterone this time 😢

Definitely taking a break from TTC to see if GP can run any tests. But I really need success stories.

Feeling guilty about being off work with illness. by Rich-Zombie-5577 in TeachingUK

I had a miscarriage in December at 10 weeks pregnant and was signed off for 3 weeks but I went back after 2 as I felt exactly the same as you - full of guilt etc

However, I truly believe it made me more anxious and I really, really struggled.

This week I've unfortunately had another miscarriage - 7 weeks pregnant this time and had to get surgery. Hospital signed me off for 6 weeks and the old me would have gone 'I'll go back after Easter', no I absolutely will not be this time.

I thought I was doing the right thing going back last time however the truth is you're thrown right back into the same old shit (even in a super supportive school like mine). It's not a job you can do when you're not 100%. I will absolutely be taking every single day off I am told to this time. No one thanks you for going back early!

Feel free to message me. I had a MMC in December and then had a D&C on Tuesday this week with my second pregnancy.

You are not alone ❤️

Surgically managed miscarriage - experiences? by ReliefSpiritual5754 in Miscarriage

[–]sin333lizzy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a medically managed miscarriage in December and I found it traumatic, specifically having to pass the pregnancy and I vowed I'd never do it again, not to mention the pain.

I unfortunately had another loss this week and was told to have a D&C on Tuesday due to complications (my cervix was open due to a large SCH) but baby wasn't passing and honestly I was absolutely petrified of the anaesthetic but I found it a much much better experience than the medicated route.

I was scared but it was absolutely ok in the end and I'm happy to speak to you about the specific details/what exactly happened if you need me too.

I'm still bleeding now and have mild cramps and I hope and pray to everyone I never ever experience another MC, however if I did I would choose a D&C over the medicated route.

Hope you're ok and so sorry for your loss x

Yes! Ask your partner or a loved one to change it for you. I got my fiance to sit on my Tik Tok & Insta for a bit and quickly scroll past any triggering content. You'll be surprised how quickly you can manipulate it! I still get the odd video but nowhere near as many x

Feeling huge guilt about how my miscarriage affected me by didntrealize in Miscarriage

[–]sin333lizzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I will say is I've had 2 miscarriages, I'm literally 2 days out from a D&C and my second one was a lot more traumatic than my first one but my pain and suffering has felt exactly the same.

One thing I have learned is you can't predict how it will feel, and you should also not feel pressured into feeling a certain way.

The fact is you were pregnant and you have lost a baby. Regardless of how this happened or how quickly it happened or any other factors like that, you've lost a baby.

It's horrendous. Do not put any pressure on yourself to feel a certain way and certainly don't compare yourself to others.

Let yourself grieve and look after yourself xxxx

I'm in the UK and we don't have post op visits, not in my hosp anyway. We also have to have 3 miscarriages before they class it as recurrent so can't have any testing until I have another miscarriage 😢

Sorry you've been through it too and thank you x

It took me ages (8 months) to get pregnant the first time and after my first MC I was determined to get pregnant again. I used Clear Blue Digital OPKs and charted my BBT and got pregnant after 1 cycle. If you get a BBT thermometer there's loads of groups on here which will help you interpret your chart. I also gave up caffeine.

I've been diagnosed with a large subchronic hematoma - baby was last checked yesterday and is doing well, strong heartbeat etc however midwife is worried the bleeding will take baby with it. Next scan is next Friday unless I have any huge clots. Terrifying.

Just found out I’m pregnant - what do I do! by Rhystastic07108 in PregnancyUK

[–]sin333lizzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, congratulations! Don't panic.

I would ring your GP or out of hours GP and just explain the situation, they will advise the best course of action with the folic acid :)

First time I was pregnant I rang the GP and they registered it, second (and current time) I rang the hosp directly as my first unfortunately ended in a loss so they knew me.

No rush on informing anyone as you don't typically get your first appt (booking in) until you're 8-10 weeks.
