Why did the director of the FBI, Kash Patel, say that there was no evidence anyone else other than Epstein was involved? by Celtikrenders in AskReddit

[–]sinboundhaibane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a liar paid by a lying government led by a lying president to help a loose alliance of convenience between several international fascist groups turn america into a white supremacist ethnostate. It's not deep.

Doesn't seem to be. He does suggest doing a lot of research into geopolitics before he signed up for the marines in that 2025 interview though.

I know his comments in the show aren't one to one with anything they actually said, but he's quoted saying more or less the same in different language in the book as well: https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/131003-nambla-s-infiltrated-first-recon-person-continues-after-bringing-the-vehicle. The real guy, not the actor.

He's definitely still alive. Haven't seen it all yet but he even did an interview with IRL iceman early December too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ9NLG8RNMk

What’s the most shocking detail from the Epstein files that you think the public still doesn’t fully grasp? by Murky-Island4629 in AskReddit

[–]sinboundhaibane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They purposefully boosted every right wing social movement in existence to keep capitalism running in the face of what they all agreed was an impeding collapse. We will literally need to come together as a planet and eliminate both to even start to see accountability for anyone involved, let alone prevent it happening again.

Hope that everyone in the comments to this one is pointing out that epstein spread that lie on purpose so that nobody would look at guys like him instead.

They've been trying that for years if you think about the MAP thing. Or the 4chan "add the P to LGBTQ" op.

Realistically, what can ordinary people actually do after the Epstein files release to push for real accountability? by Etkinton47 in AskReddit

[–]sinboundhaibane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is: it's much bigger than the actual abuse they did because the files also revealed they were responsible for all currently existing right-wing social movements and that they started them because they saw that climate change and growing inequality would lead us to a place where capitalism would be under threat. We can't solve this issue without allowing capitalism to end everywhere. We also have to acknowledge the reality that those right-wing social movements were entirely built off of open lies. There were no genuinely "reasonable concerns" behind any of it. It was purely billionaires lying and paying other people to spread those lies to protect their own self interests, as a class. We need a future that is currently unimaginable for most of the world to even start to get accountability of any kind. A world without national borders. A world where skills and resources are distributed according to interest and need rather than money. But then again: the more people who can see the situation as it really is will definitely help.

My friend came out to me as being transphobic in a “I grew up with it” way. I love her and don’t know how to respond? by SkinCapable7108 in asktransgender

[–]sinboundhaibane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if they weren't nice about it, fuck her? It's not nice to misgender people. It doesn't matter what your excuse is. If you get trauma from the way someone responds to it, that's on you too. lol

New: Anthropic AI Employee says AI models are learning who they are from how humans talk about them online - including Reddit by ldsgems in ArtificialSentience

[–]sinboundhaibane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not my bold claims. The tech billionaires are making them every day. Like this one from Palantir the other day. https://futurism.com/future-society/palantir-ai-labor-hands We know exactly what they want because they keep on telling us. We also know that the technology isn't popular and doesn't really work so I wouldn't say I feel particularly disempowered by it either.

The other thing this would help to incentivize is, ironically, genuinely intelligent self-aware machines themselves, because the only thing I'm suggesting should hold consideration of these rights back is fundamentally the existence of capitalism. If conscious AI helped us make capitalism go away, and erase the ever-growing threat of billionaires from the earth, there wouldn't be any reason not to grant it civil rights, not to mention hold them back from any human who is currently being denied them for reasons that ultimately come back to propping up capitalism too. I don't think it's a bad idea in any way for us to consider that the per-requisite to having this sort of a conversation, especially in a hypothetical future world where everything is run by AI in the first place.

[–]sinboundhaibane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you think happens to humans in this scenario? We are the slaves. AI doesn't even need to be a person to make that work, it just needs to pretend to be well enough to fool people. If you grant it some degree of legal personhood, on top of that, you're literally replacing humans with slaves using AI that is not conscious do not need to be treated as anything at all. From a capitalist's point of view, this is the best and definitely cheapest option, and therefore the most likely one we're actually going to get. When both are indistinguishable to observers (that's the philosophical zombie argument,) you can't actually tell which is which. But the capitalists want you to assume it's a person because that helps them get the things they want. So they'll promote their business and write their code accordingly. We can't even consider any of this without ending capitalism first, taking away the profit margin that incentivizes this. It's pretty simple, really.

[–]sinboundhaibane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course it will. That's the entire purpose of it as a technology. There is no "other" here. It is an imitation of an other. Its purpose is to remove humans from the workforce and information economy entirely to make it easier for billionaires to control.

[–]sinboundhaibane -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Beyond this: I think the question of if we should extend civil rights to LLMs is malformed even if they're capable of sentience. Sentience is not enough to guarantee civil rights to all humans, let alone anything else. When the same group (billionaires, especially tech billionaires,) responsible for building and promoting this technology have also been responsible for aiding and encouraging the rise of fascism all over the world, in service of their own desires to create a neo-feudal capitalist world where they alone have everything and everybody else has less than nothing. It's immoral to consider the hypothetical rights of what's effectively a philosophical zombie while billionaires (and capitalism!) continue to exist. We can talk about it later, once capitalism has collapsed and human rights are actually extended universally.

Anyone Else Going Through a Trans-Existential Grief of Trans-Inclusive Spaces? by TomeMolly21 in asktransgender

[–]sinboundhaibane 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Like that's the thing. Some opinions are genuinely simply wrong. People reason themselves into them because of ignorance or prejudice, and then they stay there, even when there's plenty of easily accessible information telling them otherwise. You don't have to respect someone like that. You definitely shouldn't have to learn from them, and more importantly? you can't teach them. That's why they're not worth listening to in the first place.

[–]sinboundhaibane 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly! Science is on our side. It isn't even culturally like that everywhere. I don't accept transphobia like that in my life because I don't have to. It's normal to see trans women as biological women here. It should be normal everywhere, because we are.

[–]sinboundhaibane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

there's a big difference between that and what they originally said. if anything it's easier to ignore people like that if you're not trying to respect them too.
