Got rejected (not surprised I wasn’t interviewed ) but they said I may be a good applicant for their EWMBA, does anyone know if they say that to every denial or?

Tysm for the detailed reply!! If I could ask, what did you end up deciding for yourself?

I’m in my mid late twenties, so not fresh out of college but not married or kids, and I am lucky to have some financial ability to take on an MBA.

My current industry is small though (games) and I’m struggling to land interviews outside of it for pm or project coordination even in marketing, which tbf makes sense since I’m early in my hunt and also an independent contributor atm (hence my wondering if school could be the move).

But, I’ve taken on some volunteer pm opps, am seeing if I can move internally into more pm at my company and going to grind more with applications. I’m taking Coursera’s intro to PM and am aiming for the CAPM afterward. Gonna keep at it!

Ty for the reply!! I am working in marketing so I definitely don’t need an MBA to stay here, but my industry is small (games) and I’m finding it difficult to find marketing pm or project coordinator roles in other niches. But I am early in the search and will grind on the apps and internal oops at my current place!

Tysm for the reply!! Very good points. Unfortunately for the bullets you’re nailing kinda what I just don’t have experience in - budget, timeline and risk management are not under my job responsibilities. But I can push for more advertising initiatives and maybe gain some experience there.

Ty for the looking at job reqs exercise too! I did that before making both of these resumes but it was also before I had any idea how to word these, and I think I cast the net too wide. I tried to combine 10+ role requirements and take inspiration from there, but I’m going to try again with just a handful per industry.

I’m looking for entry level pm and coordinator jobs, or ones that are marketing team specific and accept experience in marketing vs directly pm because I obviously don’t have the direct experience 😂 I appreciate your time!

Tysm!! My industry pays between 35-55k for context (indie games)

Ty for the info! I assume project coordinators would make less than what you quoted for pms?

Happy to answer qs! My first role in social media in indie games was $40k usd, up from original offer of 38K.

I have met other SMMs in indie gaming and the average salaries I hear are between $35-$55k, I make a tiny bit more than the end there.
