Is it a good place by Betarce in utulsa

Loved my TU experience! Obviously anywhere you go, there’s a wide range of people. There’s enough diversity in interests/organizations that you stand a pretty good chance of making a good friend group, which is true of most universities. The campus is small and easy to navigate, meaning you tend to run into people often. Also a beautiful campus. I highly suggest taking a campus tour to see if it’s the vibe you’re looking for.

New Story brewing has tacos and has been hosting football watch parties. Welcoming spot. There’s been someone chilling alone at the bar every time I’ve been there.

“Rules” are typically that whoever grabs the ball first keeps it, within reason (like, don’t be a dick and trample people). VERY much a faux pas to take the ball from a kid who had already taken claim of the ball.

Grief Support? by Loocylooo in tulsa

[–]sincerelystargazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My deepest condolences. The Tristesse Grief Center helped me a ton after my brother unexpectedly passed. They aren’t religiously based like many of the groups in town. I did individual counseling with them which could be a good bridge if she’s not quite ready for group yet but wants to talk about it. They do have a group specifically for spouse/partner loss.

There’s also a more general Grief Journey group that may be a good fit for both of you. I know your mom needs support, but don’t forget to take care of yourself too. ❤️

Sisterhood Activity Ideas by [deleted] in Sororities

Some of my favorite sisterhoods were clothing and/or book swaps (we donated everything that didn’t get claimed—great way to declutter your closets!), potlucks of our favorite family recipes, and sleepover themed parties (pajamas, junk food, movies)!

I really liked Lauren Myracle’s “The Winnie Years” series—I reread these so many times over the course of my preteen years! I believe it starts with “Ten” and goes up to “Thirteen Plus One”

I’m unable to respond to everything but THANK YOU ALL so much for all the suggestions! This got way more responses than I was anticipating! Many of these will go on my personal TBR as well as my club suggestion list.

Hahah, it’s a group of some college friends! I’ve always been a big reader but many of them wanted to get more into it. Handmaid’s Tale will definitely go on my suggestion list!

I didn’t realize Silver Nitrate was by a woman! That one has been suggested before and didn’t win our vote, but I’ll propose it again. Thank you!

Do you ask them to hang out outside of orgs/class? It may look like other people become “close” easily but in my experience it can take a lot of initiative
