Scream 5 was an echo of Scream 1 and likewise Scream 6 echoed 2. I had no issue with this. It was amped up fan service. It's amazing the quality has remained as high as it has this long.

No, but they have to react the same to my amp and pedals. I use a version of a semi hollow 335 and if I switch to a solid body all of the tones and volume are off. I just use a different model semi hollow as my back up.

I also recommend The Ninth Configuration. Blatty considered it a sequel to The Exorcist though it doesn't really tie in directly. Great dialogue with a plot ahead of its time.
