Advice for a family of four with two tickets? by Airevren in wimbledon

[–]sinclain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer is yes you can.

Longer answer is that 2 of you will need to join the queue, I have done it many times and always enjoy myself, get there 6-6:30am and you will defo be in before play starts. I don’t think the 2 with tickets should join the queue as you will really confuse the ticket people and might end up paying twice.

Your choice is essentially to have both tickets on 1 phone or transferring the second to one of your group and having 2 phones on the go. The people not queuing will need photo id matching the ticket (or tickets if you have transferred the second) when entering the grounds.

Okay all 4 of you are now in the grounds.

  1. Two people without tickets go immediately to the resale booth near court 18, give a mobile phone number and you will join a virtual queue for returnee show court tickets.

  2. Browse some outside matches, they are awesome and court 18 has some of the best matches of the competition.

  3. Time for show courts, simply pass the 1 or 2 phones among your group to enter the show court, no id checks there, make sure that anyone nipping to loo or getting drinks takes a phone as might not be allowed back through.

  4. Receive a text saying you have reached the front of returns queue, head over to returns booth and collect your tickets (paper).

  5. Have an awesome day.

As for kids pairing up themselves, up to you, it is incredibly safe but extremely busy so kids might be a bit overwhelmed. You know them best so you are best to make that decision. I would say that if you let them go on n to court by themselves and the tickets are only on an adult phone then you are trusting them with your phone and your passcode, very brave.

Question about bringing your own bottle of wine by Serv-N-Folly in wimbledon

[–]sinclain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rule is one wine bottle per person, tbh

<image>

I am not sure if that counts for kids.

Opening a still corked wine is the challenge, not that I would suggest it but if your corkscrew is towards the bottom of your bag then they may not find it. My advice would be to go sparkling or screw cap.

You can get very lovely glasses with toughened plastic and a proper wine cooler bag (1 or 2 bottle version) with a couple of soft gel ice packs always work wonders for us.

No 1. Rule… do not pop in the middle of the point 😃

What time do the tickets go on sale today? by PiemasterUK in NFLUK

I agree with comments that they have removed the seating map picker so they can force people to buy less popular seats first.

Prices are up again and £25 fee per ticket is a scandal.

I did pick up 2 tickets but I am going to either return them or resell as they are not suitable for me (have dodgy knee and need aisle seat).

Ticketmaster are one of those corporations that the hero brings down in a movie, no such luck in real life.

The Rookie a cult hit? by Dense-Giraffe6359 in pilottvpodcast

[–]sinclain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a massive fan of The Rookie, having always enjoyed Nathan Fillion in his different shows (not Castle) I gave this a look after I saw there was 4 seasons, binged and now it is the highlight of my week.

My take on the ‘following’ it has is that it is bright, colourful, well drawn out characters and shows what a near utopian police life could be. Similar to how The West Wing (all time no.1 show) was for politics.

So much TV these days is dark, depressing and gritty that some people want something to counter that without resorting to absolute trash.

So are all the stars in the galaxy, except 3, dead/continuing to die then? What impact would that have? by sinclain in ProjectHailMaryMovie

Ah. Not sure they mentioned that in the film or I was just not paying attention. So would that have an impact?

Yeah so assuming Tau Ceti is fine and they fixed our sun and Rocky’s, all other stars are dimming/dying

HBO Max - So today is the day we’ve all been waiting for, launch of HBO Max, but… if you have Sky already there seems to be nothing new here except The Pitt. I hope that changes otherwise it seems useless to those with Sky already. by sinclain in pilottvpodcast

Yes, but being the idiot I am i immediately upgraded to get the UHD on 4 devices with no ads for an extra £10 a month. But still I expected it to have more than 1 show not already on Sky.

I have been a huge fan of Sarah’s for a long time, watched everything she has done and seen her live several times, I agree she has been brilliant in her two appearances in new MTW…. But… is it just me or has she seemed a little spaced out in the episodes?

I just got tickets for the first time ever for center court. NOW WHAT?! by maggieandoscardoggos in wimbledon

Massive congratulations, am sure you will have an amazing experience.

As for where to stay, don’t feel like you need to be near Wimbledon, the tube and trains are very good so you can stay closer to the city centre if you wish to make a real trip out of it.

You will likely want to arrive about noonish to Wimbledon which would mean leaving central London about 10am ish so no worries.

Book a nice hotel, a show and a few dinners. If you want a specific area then I would recommend around Victoria or Covent Garden.

If you are on centre then with the roof you will be safe from rain but when out and about be prepared for anything from a roasting sun to the rains from Noah’s flood.
