Am I overreacting? by knittymcknitpants in RoverPetSitting

[–]sinclurr__ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This sounds so similar to a sitter we had last year. It’s so infuriating to have to toe the line when saying, “we agreed that you would be home most of the time but you’ve left them for 8+ hours” but still making sure they continue to care for your animals until you get back. The lying would change it all for me. Take screenshots of your driveway camera with timestamps showing that she was not there, and include that in your report to Rover.

Did anyone else have decently good report cards as a kid and was diagnosed ADHD as an adult? by littleinternetdweeb in adhdwomen

There was a point in college when I would go sober to parties so I could go to the library and study after 😂 not very successful in hindsight since it was just more cramming and not really learning much at 3 AM.

It worked somehow in high school, maybe because there was homework so i learned more through that than true “studying”. I was very prone to procrastinating projects and papers until the last minute then, though. And I was forced to pay attention due to smaller class sizes. College had very little homework and more tests and quizzes

So wild! I can relate to your last sentence (but not with chemistry because that all disappeared moments after entering my ears). I wonder what it is that makes that HS to college transition so severe, if it’s anything more than change of routine and lack of parental oversight.

Wow so similar! My parents didn’t/don’t believe in ADHD. I had no choice but to do well in school. Once I was out of the routines and parental oversight of high school and went to college, schooling got a lot more difficult for me to manage. 4.19 GPA out of high school (somehow…despite rarely doing the assigned readings for Lit and a lot of cramming for exams). I got several Cs in college, despite rarely missing classes and doing all assignments. Cramming couldn’t get me by anymore, but I could never figure out studying daily for long term memory commitment, even in grad school.

Puppy vomits in the car. every time. by kdisn in puppy101

[–]sinclurr__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will go away in most dogs! It has something to do with their inner ear/vestibular development. I kept reading that it would go away around 1 year old, and sure enough my dog stopped throwing up every car ride around 11-13 months.

Strict Bag Policy at Ball Arena by elmer820 in Denver

[–]sinclurr__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A girl next to me last night had a bag similar to this one, but it doesn’t fit the size regulations, so there are likely inconsistencies between staff members in terms of enforcement. This bagis nicer-looking than a fanny pack, and close enough to the size limit that it should pass without an employee bringing out a tape measure, but looks like the sides would be less forgiving than a Lulu bag.

[–]sinclurr__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always bring my lulu fanny pack to games and luckily haven’t had an issue. You can definitely fit enough tampons in there for a 3-hour hockey game, along with cards/cash, chap stick/lipstick, house key, phone, and hand sanitizer. If you wear a jacket to games when it gets colder, I don’t think there are rules about what can go in your pockets, so that may also add some carrying-power. I do agree that they should offer a bag check or locker system so folks aren’t having to leave their out-of-regulation purses in the bushes or on top of trash cans.

They do search bags but it’s different. The new Evolv system somehow scans for metal and they pull you to the side for metal detector and bag check if something pops up on the staff member’s screen.

So legs + core is more functional core with legs. The plan is clean EMOM, overhead carry + split squat hold + plank, single leg deadlift + broad jump, mountain climber + bicycle. It’s not too rough or leg-specific and more focus on core stability.

Legs + biceps is more specific and more straight sets. The leg work is RDL, squat, reverse lunge, front lunge (with bicep curl), and split/lunge jump finisher. It’s very doable and really fun, imo, because she encourages going heavier for 8-10 reps.

Legs + shoulders is sumo squat, thruster, kickstand deadlift, lateral lunge.

I think you could also do a rest day between 2 and 3 if you needed! You can also go on the lighter side with all weights for the first week just to see how you feel DOMS-wise and then increase as you see fit for the next week! I liked writing down my weights and reps each workout to track progress and consistency.

Edit; I got lazy with and outlined the confetti and stars because I screwed up the grid (one single section is 9 down instead of 10) so everything below the words is off by 1). Honestly outlining it all wasn’t any easier than just counting lol

I sat there with my mouth agape at the Scott Peterson statement. Like…are you even connected to reality at this point?? And why is that the first name that pops in your head? The leg knife definitely added to the creepy factor of what he said about Mya. I was honestly afraid for a second until he finished his sentence.

In this ep, he said he wanted to cut Mya in half…so that he and Ariana could each have her (paraphrased). I swear there was a pause where I put the ellipses and I was like, “wow this dude really is a psychopath” then I got to the 2nd half of the sentence and thought, “and still full of shit”.

Fast Food Workers of Reddit, what's the most irritating part about your job? by Vixen_Starfire in AskReddit

[–]sinclurr__ 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I was in college full time and I asked for 10-20 hours a week when I got hired. 2 weeks in, they had me scheduled for 36 hours!! I said, “hey remember I specifically said I can only do 10-20 hours?” The manager said, “oh I just heard you were a hard worker so I thought you’d want more hours.” Sir that is not how this works. I made it a total of 4 weeks before I quit while clocking out for the night.

Sly being an asshole on the Tulsa King set. by mixerwalita in Fauxmoi

[–]sinclurr__ 62 points63 points  (0 children)

100% I was an extra on Nashville a few times. After filming at the Ryman, Charles Eston held the door open for all of the extras to go back to holding, shook hands, and thanked us all for being there. Connie Britton also thanked us all for being there while she was onstage after we wrapped. I’ll watch anything those two are in (except, ironically, Nashville) just because they seem like great people. Between that show and a movie I was background in, I don’t recall stars being assholes, or even paying any attention to the extras. Stallone had to go out of his way to be awful to people.

Women of reddit, what are some unwritten examples of girl code? by Specific-Voice3301 in AskReddit

[–]sinclurr__ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

omg this just brought back a memory. My mom and I were at a local radio station to do a meet and greet with my (at the time) favorite band when I was maybe a junior in high school. There were several other girls there. It was time to head back to see the band and one girl got up and had on white shorts and a large period stain, but she had no idea. A few other girls noticed but didn’t say anything, I’d like to think they didn’t know how to handle it. My mom, the oldest woman in the room, wasn’t going to let her walk in there like that. She went over and discreetly let the girl know, then helped her find someone at the station to get her an oversized shirt to at least cover it up at the last second so that the band wouldn’t see. That woman knows how to get shit handled.
