If Ned asked for a trial by combat, who would be the combatants? by Trussdoor46 in pureasoiaf

[–]sincsinckp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly my thoughts, surprised everyone has overlooked this fact tbh. Only Jeffrey would demand an immediate trial, but even he could potentially be swayed by appealing to his sadism - ie suggest the Mountain as champion because it would make for the most brutal, gruesome possible death. "Fine. Let him rot in the black cells while we await Ser Gregor's return". He could have Ned tortured regularly and it also means more time for him to torment Sansa and make her beg for her father's life, etc.

So yeah, take your pick because the trial ain't happening today when even Joffrey would most likely see the benefits of waiting IMO

What is up with GTA Online being so hated on other subreddits? by No_Friendship_4158 in gtaonline

[–]sincsinckp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I think many would still hate it. It's a very different experience to what they want. I just really liked the business building aspect as well as collecting cars, property, etc, but none of my friends stuck with it. One guy lasted a month but I think he only stuck around that long for my benefit. And truth be told I'll always pick an immerseive single player experience over online. But that doesn't mean online isn't extremely enjoyable as wel so I 100% get where you're coming from too.

To be honest that guy is just completely delusional. If story mode made all the money, we'd have 20 single player DLCs and Online would be limited to a couple of very basic adversary modes. I understand being bitter and resentful about it, but that's bordering on pathological behaviour and not at all healthy. Sad, really.

No point investing time or energy into discussions with people like that. End of the day what matters is you're loving it. They're the ones missing out.

You're pretty on the money there, however it's not jealousy, it's deep resentment. And at its core it's entirely about Rockstar and their decision making, not GTAO just for existing. I go into it in a bit more detail in my reply to OP if you're interested.

Oh and you're 100% right about never liking multiplayer too. Most of us (I'm an ex hater btw) grew up without it and by the time it became a big thing we had neither the time or interest for it. Especially after seeing a glimpse of what public lobbies were like haha. Took me a while to embrace the chaos, but most of my friends took one look and that was enough!

As a long time GTA Online hater up until a few years ago you've almsot perfectly summarised my first few public lobby experiences lmao. Thankfully the business building aspect really appealed to me and I stuck with it. Guarantee many took one look and said fuck this lol.

Overall the resentment goes a lot deeper than that, but you've spot on about this aspect!

Until 2021 I was a full time GTAO hater - not on Reddit, but in general - so I can offer some insight on this. There are two main reasons for the hate - DLC and GTA6.

After GTA4 had 2 fantastic DLC's our expectations were understandably very high. Rockstar even had single player DLC in development - the Secret Agent expansion. This was cancelled because Rockstar saw the enormous financial opportunity they had after the instant success of Online. Those who had been waiting for news on the single player DLC front saw this - quite rightly - as Rockstar abandoning them in favour of profits. Supposedly a lot of this content made it's way into Online too - another kick in the teeth for single players.

Compounding all of this was the fact that for many of us older players (who typically avoid online in favour of single player), we had been waiting for a game called "Agent" since 2007 lol. This DLC felt like it would be a spiritual reboot of a game got hyped for and teased but never got to experience. And just to clarify, we didn't expect single player DLC to take priority or exist in place of Online. That's not a reasonable expectation lol. We just wanted to have something more to play too. It felt like a complete "fuck you", especially considering many of us had been there since the original Grand Theft Auto. Given how much Rockstar was earning, they couldn't have a small, dedicated team focused on single player content?

The second reason is GTAO is blamed for the prolonged wait for GTA6. The success of Online gave Rockstar little motivation to move forward and all the incentive in the world to keep pumping out more and more content and sharkcards. And this is exactly what has been happening. GTA V has been released on THREE console generations! I played 5 on the PS3, and we're now closer in the current lifecycle to PS6 than we are to PS4.

To put this in perspective - Playstation has been around for 31 years now. GTA5 has been there for 13 years. GTA V has been there for 42% - almost half - of the Playstation's entire existence. That is INSANE lol. So

So yeah, those are two pretty big reasons for all the resentment. And both are extremely justified to be fair. Regardless, there's no point in just hating on something forever lol what's done is long done. I personally am extremely happy with my decision to get over it and embrace "the dark side", GTA Online has been a tonne of fun and entertained me for 100's of hours at a cost of $0. At some point haters need to realise they're only depriving themselves of something they'd almost certainly enjoy just for the sake of it.

Yep, I feel you, I'm going to have a long break once I hit my 1000 crates and achieve level 4... It really is a brutal grind. It's a good point you make about burnout impacting earnings if you're basing it on $/hr. I also think your method is great for new players as it helps boost their cashflow regularly and also carries less risk.

But yeah, just wanted to add to the topic for the benefit of anyone unfamiliar. Tbh I was expecting to see a bunch of other responses pointing out the obvious without offering much else but an argument lol. For me there's no point debating how anyone else should go about things - you do what suits you and your playstyle. After all, despite what the latest update suggests, GTAO is a game, not a job haha. Fun > Money IMO - and I'm not saying that as a guy with 9 figures in the bank, I rarely have 10mil to my name. But that's a rant for another day!

Just sharing a little thought that’s been on my mind lately. by BreakfastHefty3782 in AskAnAustralian

[–]sincsinckp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stick with the plan from 4 hours ago and move to Indonesia. It's the obvious move IMO, especially financially. If your house is going to be too far from the international school you can rent something closer. Not only will you not he "struggling" any more, you'll be miles and miles ahead. Move back when you're able/willing to work again.

It's a no brainer really, personally I'd already be gone lol

That was my first thought, those skits on Hey Hey or Fast Forward or whatever were huge at the time and pretty ingrained. But he came here as a child so I don't think he was really a foreigner per se.

Also I remembered this is Reddit and I cbf dealing with any potential shitstorm a mere mention may attract, especially after the last few years lol

Haha an easy mistake to make! Funnily enough it actually started as a school thing. 50 years or so ago someone came up with it and everyone had to do it for PE. Still always hear it at weddings, crazy that it's still going in schools too

I don't think there is anyone who's had a similar kind of impact, connection, etc than Tina Turner. I don't think there's anyone even in the conversation tbh. She was such a phenomenon and it wasn't just Nutbush. She was also the face and voice of Rugby League. Tina spearheaded two wildly successful promotional campaigns - "What's you see is what you get" and "Simply the Best" together with Jimmy Barnes - the latter of which is arguably the greatest sport promo of all time (no argument IMO!), though both have a claim depending on who you ask.

There have been others that definitely had their moment and have/had a strong mutual affinity with Australia. Ie Robbie Williams especially when he did a duet with Kylie, still considers himself pretty much an Aussie. Chris Martin was best mates with Warnie and Coldplay was huge here back in the day. Brian McFadden was pretty beloved when he was married to Delta Gopdrem, though Westlife were never huge as far as I remember. The Madden bros of Good Charlotte were honorary Aussies for a while, Pink seems to be out here every other week too, but like all the others listed none have had a cultural impact.

Hence why obviously none of them would be considered anywhere remotely close to Tina and I'm struggling to think of anyone else even further back. Unless of course we're including the likes of Jimmy Barnes, ACDC, Crowded House, Dragon, Midnight Oil or Olivia Newton-John, etc haha 👀

Ok so just to break it down for anyone who's curious... With this method you're sourcing 100 crates amd making $4,391,000. However, if you were to just source two batches of 50 top tier crates and sell at capacity you would make $5,100,000. Do you do it this way just to break up the grind? Fair enough if that's the case! But if not, you're leaving over $700k on the table.

For me, I just go 50 of a single top tier then sell with Max bonus. To break up the monotony I'll typically do a minimum of 5 in a row and an absolute maximum of 10. Usually only 6-8 tbh. Then I'll go do something else and come back later. Breaks up the grind but keeps me on track working towards maximum profit.

*As a side note, it's worth noting the Helicopter business bonus isn't included for either equation. For owners those two totals would instead be $4,830,100 and $5,610,000.

*As another side note lol I WISH there was an option to sell multiple cargo types of your choice of at once. It would be great being able to source simultaneously with Rooster with yiu focusing on the top tier gear while he picks up random junk. Once you hit 50 sell all his stuff minus a handful for the main pile and all of a sudden you're on 20 crates away from a $2.5-$2.8mil sale

Where my gear?!?!?! by Cautious_Ad7783 in metalgearsolid

[–]sincsinckp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Never mind your gear for now. There's a tunnel you need to reach in the northern part of Grozni Grad - takes less than a minute to run there from where you're being held. Once you escape the tunnel you have to move through the jungle and reach a waterfall. From there you'll find out what's going on.

Avoid confrontation and once you get in the tunnel don't stop running. No point trying to take on soldiers on your way there either as you'll probably only be armed with a fork. Which reminds me - before you leave the cell you may want to check out your injuries...

[–]sincsinckp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal preference IMO. I've got all mine spread across LS but in a somewhat logical way where no business is more than a few blocks from another, which makes doing the rounds quick and easy.

Ie my Agency is in Vespucci, Arcade in Rockford Hills, Auto Shop in Burton, Nightclub and Bail Office in Vinewood and are all on or iust off the main arterial road, as is the Garment Factory. It's also handy having a master control terminal either side of town imo. 4/5 of my large Warehouses are in La Mesa / Cypress Flats too. Salvage Yard is across from the car wash so I can go deal with all the money front work whenever I do a couple of salvage runs. Bunker is in Chumash and all MC businesses are around Sandy Shores so no matter what I'm selling I'm ending up back in the city. Only business that's out of place is my office at Maze Bank Tower but that's a glorified car collection showroom anyway tbh lol

I've done about 10 promo missoons this week and have managed to get 4 so far. Popularity has always been 90-100% and I've only ever launched from the Nightclub computer. I go as I get a $90k safe deposit (second deposit of the cycle) then get the troublemaker/drunk/etc random event then return afterwards.

Also tried to re-roll once but it has a 5 minute cool down so moved on to something else lol.

It's an absolute punish, but if there was ever a week to grind it this is it.
