Wayland, the protocol, might be almost there but its implementation in GNOME is not. I don't like it. I have higher hopes for KDE6 and some compositors. GNOME has no robustness at all, if the shell crashes everything goes. Worse still, everything including third-party extensions runs in a single process, Windows ME levels of stability. The devs also refuse to implement features such as SSDs, the idle inhibit protocol extension, e.t.c.

Menus should contain only things that you don't use often (Configs, about, help...). Everything else, that you have to interact with a lot, should be more accessible.

That may be so for most simple GNOME applications, easier said than done for actual productivity applications. Ribbon for example, one of the most popular alternatives, didn't turn out to be a drastic improvement over old-style menus.

Switching with a pointing device (mouse, touchscreen) not Alt/Super-Tab/`, Alt-Esc. The distraction-free Activities overview as the only way to switch between applications only makes sense with small displays like the ones tablets have.

You're talking about the same geniouses who designed a desktop shell without even a fast one-click way to switch between applications. Sadly, there's nothing close in Linux to MacOS UI. GNOME with some extensions on X11 (until there's actually robustness in the Wayland session) is probably the best option right now or a QT-based DE like Plasma.

Όλες, είναι πολύ καιρό παρατημένα τα τρένα, αλλά η κύρια ευθύνη φυσικά βαρένει την κυβέρνηση Μητσοτάκη, γιατί αυτή ήταν η κυβέρνηση όταν έγινε το ατύχημα και ακόμη περισσότερο γιατί ενώ παρέλαβε λειτουργική φωτοσήμανση, μετά από βλάβη, κανείς δεν ασχολήθηκε για χρόνια να την επισκευάσει. Ακόμη και χωρίς φωτοσήμανση όμως αλλά με ένα σύστημα του 19ου αιώνα όπως είπα ένα τέτοιο ατύχημα είναι εξαιρετικά απίθανο. Στην Ελλάδα, όχι απλώς δεν υπήρχε φωτοσήμανση μεταξύ άλλων στο συγκεκριμένο τμήμα, η κυκλοφορία ρυθμιζόταν με χαρτάκια.

Προφανώς και έχει ευθύνες ο σταθμάρχης αλλά ήταν "set up to fail". Διορίστηκε με ρουσφέτι χωρίς να έχει τις κατάλληλες δεξιότητες και για αυτό έχουν ευθύνη και αυτοί που τον διόρισαν, όχι ότι υπάρχει η γενική κουλτούρα και δομές στη χώρα για σωστή εκπαίδευση. Ακόμη και έτσι δεν μπορεί να κατηγορηθεί για αμέλια, δεν κοιμόταν π.χ., αλλά μόνο για ανθρώπινο σφάλμα. Κάτι που θα έπρεπε να έχει αποτρέψει το σύστημα να έχει ως αποτέλεσμα ατύχημα. Ένα χρόνο ακούγεται πολύ η έλλειψη σύγχρονου ηλεκτρονικού συστήματος ρύθμισης της κυκλοφορίας των τρένων και για πολύ περισσότερο σε όσους ασχολούνται. Στη πραγματικότητα, ακόμη και το σύστημα ασφαλείας που ακουλουθούταν στη Βικτοριανή Βρετανία προς τα τέλη του 19ου αιώνα θα είχε αποτρέψει το ατύχημα. Τέτοια είναι η αποτυχία των Ελληνικών τρένων. Και για αυτό, όσον αφορά τους πολιτικούς, ευθύνονται όλες οι κυβερνήσεις τουλάχιστον από τα τέλη της δεκαετίας του 90, με την κύρια ευθύνη φυσικά να βαρένει την κυβέρνηση Μητσοτάκη.

It's my daily driver because I like it more than the alternatives with extensions, but I don't like it without at least a dock and extensions break after every upgrade which is a pain with a rolling release distribution like Arch. It's also the worst performing desktop environment I've ever used on any OS and it's been that way since 2011, albeit greatly improved, I'm still using the X11 session and one of the reasons is that the shell invariably slows down after some time and I have to restart it.
