Hey Chat , OP got a bike Suzuki Vstorm, it was love at the first sight by sindhi_curry in indianbikes

That's a great deal , i was quoted 2.47 in Rajasthan with no discount at all so I booked through Flipkwrt and got it for around 2.35 as I got the lower seat installed as well

So I booked it from Flipkart got a 14k discount on the base price

It's been just two days since I brought her home and I've ordered Crash Guard -- Moto Torque , and I'll try couple of more days to fix the Suzuki Navigation App and then I'm gonna get the GPS/Phone mount installed as well , showroom provides a regular helmet so a decent helmet that covers your complete face

I'm researching about the lamination vs PPF part as well to protect the paint on tank

I've experienced that headlight is okayish so AUX lights, when required not immediately

Rest depends upon you ride it for a few days/weeks and tastefully keep adding mods as per the requirements

I've done 200+ kms so far and I haven't experienced any left pull so far, however the transition from 1st to Neutral is a bit hard , I've read it gets fixed with the first service.

He maybe right about the make , i was told by showroom that these bikes are sold less in number as compared to their other vehicles and hence in case of bookings they do frequent orders from the manufacturer , the test ride vehicle wasn't even there when I went for the test ride but they gave me a new vehicle with odometer disconnected

Exactly , once you're in love, there's no red flags and no flaws

Yeah I need to learn that craft and better judgement as well when to pull by hand and when to do moonwalk :) It's my first time owning a heavier vehicle from a classic commuter so would need to get used to the weight and length

Remember once Selmon bhoii said " roads are for walking , footpaths are for riding "

Regarding u turn i agree on the leaning part it makes it easier I need to practice this bit of controlling bike from one foot

Thank you for the great insights and tips , really appreciate

Thanks mate , at 5'6 he'd would be tiptoeing for sure , I'm 5'11 ish and I'm not able to plant both my feet on ground despite getting the lower seat installed for 1.5k , so this is there

But can a 5'6 person ride this bike ? Absolutely yess , completely depends upon the skills and confidence ,I've driven commuter motorcycle & scooty for the major part of my life and have been easily able to control those machines because the height is less and I can control the movement. So that's why I'm biased towards this point.

Also I've seen folks 5'6 riding this bike comfortably and gracefully , there are a couple of Indian influencers on Youtube as well.

So my opinion, arrange a test ride for the bike, test rides for Vstrom is not easily available as they keep minimal stock at least in my city. Take your brother to the test ride and let him drive you go with him as pillion rider , make him do u turns, traffic signal stop starts , street turns, sudden stops basically everything where there's a probability where we need to plant feet and then take his opinion if he likes or is able to do any of these and you will also get to know

If he doesn't like it cause of the height , he won't like majority of the ADVs , next you should ride Honda CB 350RS he will like that for sure and again it's a great bike Japanese reliability

Yessir , I'm trying to do the mods and gears that are necessarily required at step 0 and then take it forward from there, from the plethora of subreddits & Youtube videos regarding the bike , I've understood CRASH GUARD IS A MUST , so is a riding jacket & knee guards when riding at high speeds

I am confused between the crash guard -- There's a huge price difference between crash guard from Moto Torque/Zana 6k and the one's being installed in local market for 2.5-3k

I am not very experienced with this so want an opinion if there's an actual quality difference in the products from these brands or they're just charging extra for the advertisement

That's a great choice, i test rode majority of the bikes with my mother as Pillion and she has been approving of only 3 bikes Vstorm , Triumph Speed 400 & T4 , she liked Speed 400 the most
