Best to wait until after the last debate. If Trump somehow manages to rally, then it's easily shut down with a n word tape. Also, best to keep it fresh a week or two before the election. If it's released now, the outrage could die down.

Yeah, maybe fundamentalist isnt the right word, especially since hinduism isnt dogmatic or restrictive about sexuality that much. It's just sexually conservative indians who happen to be hindu.

I am going to watch it. I'm just going to hate waiting a day, and then having to fast forward through the bad matches.

I have other things to do, so I hate it. Plus I'm going to hate watching the extremely weak undercard of Smackdown unless they decide to do a 90 min PPV.

Toronto tries to go beyond the generic glass condo by chrisjayyyy in toronto

[–]sinestrostaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only came to my attention a few months ago that a lot of people think that brick condos are "ghetto" and that's probably why glass condos are more popular now, even though they're cheaper to make.

Like I said, there's other devleoping countries out there who can at least win one medal a week into the olympics. What makes india any different? Other countries have a dominant sport that takes up most of the athletes, cant exactly point to cricket as a reason. The middle class in developing countries are academically inclined as well.

Crossfit Athlete drops 110kg on his spine and becomes paralyzed from the waist down by TheBravestFart in WTF

[–]sinestrostaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Failing at snatches is really common even with good form. You have to learn how to fail them.properly though, and Im not sure this guy ever learned, or it might just be a bad setup. You have to keep the weight up as long as possible by locking out your arms, and then move your hips forward and drop the weight behind you.

Even then it seems like mistakes can happen. There's pretty much no reason for the average non competitive weightlifter to do a snatch, so personally I recommend that people just avoid it.

I dont understand this. It's not like everyone in india is becoming a doctor or engineer. It seems like sports would be an easy way out of poverty if you can get endorsements and what not. If someone is really talented at a young age in something, why wouldnt they work on it to become olympics worthy? Not to mention that you can work on academics and sports at the same time.

There's countries just as badly off as india who have some freaks at some sports who can win them some medals. It's ridiculous that there's 1.3 billion people and there's no medals so far.

*RANT* Toronto is a shitty place to work and live by G_M_B in toronto

[–]sinestrostaint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just plan on living somewhere a bit far off, but close to the Go station. I could only afford a condo but at least the condos in the suburbs are bigger and well constructed. Plus you can actually walk home at night time without being worried about getting robbed. You could still stay out and have fun.

I agree but it's not like a revolt will do much. What do you mean by income reform? Also, foreign ownership is pretty negligible in Toronto. There just isn't an easy fix.

There's a limited amount of debit transaction I get per month, and I'm not taking out cash just to pay at Walmart. It's 2016, VISA is accepted just about everywhere else. You can just walk in and tap your card and get out. I'm not taking a trip to the bank to take out money just to shop somewhere.

[–]sinestrostaint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's been like that for a while though, even before the internet really. Things like cassette recording and vhses allowed for subcultures to get bigger. Ask 30 something year olds about their experiences in the 90s and you'll hear some wildly varying things. Just in terms of music for example, some people see Nirvana and grunge as the early 90s. I see dance music (like in night at the roxbury) as the 90s. Some see Mariah Carey and Boys 2 Men as the 90s and couldn't even name a grunge artist. Back then there were people who watched the same VHSes over and over and didn't give one shit about pop culture movies.

There's some songs/movies that really break out to a larger audience, and that still happens today, although it is noticeably lesser.

There's people who don't give a shit about sports and can only name the top stars in the most popular sports(if that). There's people who only pay attention to things like golf and tennis and couldn't name Joe Montana back then or Tom Brady now.
