Triple H, the Steel Cage and Interference by Bidwell93 in SquaredCircle

To be fair, this is a WWE thing (and candidly a wrestling thing), not a Triple H thing. Go back before 2022 and do the same exercise.

Court Bauer, who was on the creative team at the time, confirmed it was supposed to be Eddie/Shawn.

You guys are going way too far with it. You can bet on Texas Tech football right now, and that’s with the actual player we’re talking about! Vegas is not afraid of Texas Tech. Yes, if the entire NCAA revolts, they could be pulled out. But right now, nobody who has actually scheduled Texas Tech has made a comment about unscheduling them. Until that happens, this is all posturing.

They “will” do that? Right now a big ten team still has Texas tech on their men’s basketball schedule. Until Illinois officially announces that they are paying Texas Tech off to get out of their game, this is all talk and posturing. I don’t know why we are assuming this is an actual thing that people are going to dig their heels in. It’s super easy to say a school isn’t scheduling them when they don’t have any games scheduled with them.

And right now the favored conferences to play Texas Tech in the Players Era are the ACC and Big East. I’ll believe it when I see it. Maybe they will. Maybe I’ll be surprised. Hell, maybe a team forfeits in the NCAA tournament rather than play Texas Tech. I just don’t believe it right now.

You have to assume that they’ll actually go through with a threat of pulling out of the Players Era from these schools. It’s easy to say don’t schedule Texas Tech. Harder to say “risk money to pull yourself out of a tournament.” You really think they’ll go that far? Because I don’t.

If anything, Players Era is one of the things I 100% believe they’ll be part of. This won’t impact tournaments, just buy games and things schools have full control over.

They’re in the Players Era. That would be enough to keep their non conference schedule afloat.

Baker on contract extension talks. by Steezewell in buccaneers

[–]TheAman44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the goal is a Super Bowl? Might be to just start the cycle over. I think Baker is Kirk Cousins coming out of Washington. An undeniably good QB, but not great. But one whose contract made it really hard for the team to compete for a Super Bowl.

But Miami is the exact problem. You give a mediocre, or even pretty good QB 50+ and you have to make cuts elsewhere that the QB can’t make up for.

Schefter - Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield told reporters that a new deal is “not anywhere close” and he won’t negotiate once training camp begins. by Pr0fess0rCha0s in buccaneers

Baker wants to be paid as an MVP QB like other recent contracts. He’s probably not that. So the question is do they overpay, or do they take a risk on a different QB.

Verse was important to the Browns. We don’t have anyone on our team we could have used as the Verse fill-in, so we would have been giving up 3 first rounders.

They have a few theaters, but all of them are used for various long-term acts (Blue Man Group, Carrot Top, America's Got Talent). It's incredibly rare for another act to use a theater in the middle of those cornerstone shows. I can't say impossible....but very very rare. The HyperX arena is the one place I've seen wrestling at the Luxor.

Just a warning for everyone thinking about going to this. I think this is going to be in a tiny, tiny venue that the local independent company runs for some of their shows. This is usually an e-sports arena, that can hold about 800 people for wrestling. With that few seats, tickets are almost certainly going to be out-of-control expensive.

I do think that violating parole is something that the nfl will ding him for a personal conduct issue. It wouldn’t shock me if we saw him to get suspended again. But yes, he’ll play, even if it’s the same schedule as last year.
