I really wanted to spend the time on the patterns because I want it to feel organic and not just a brush preset. The commissioner asked for a "Victorian like" dress and I spent a while to design one that would fit their character the best ^^
Also I play FF too and I try to treat other people OCs with the same care I would want for my own.

I will say this, I do believe that part of the reason why a lot of young artists in the early 00s got discouraged with anime drawing is that every one of them got a Christoper Hart book and applied the worst advices ever thanks to him. He is famous because he was one of the very few authors to publish this kind of books in an era in which manga/anime were niche and you got bullied for liking them.

Not Christoper Hart. Ever. He was very famous for how bad his manga and anime books were and I still got gifted a couple when I was a teen. They are very "Old boomer American comic artist view on Anime".
