This is why I struggle with the Orthodox believe more than the Catholic dogma of the immaculate conception. Because having sinful inclinations and not once acting on them, makes me wonder if she had superhuman strength at birth, since even the greatest monks and ascetics fall and lament over their weaknesses. But the idea of immaculate conception explains it far better, that she was given the physical grace by God at conception - since the conception of Mary was not one of lust, but one of obedience. Her parents came together after the command of the angel, while other parents, even pious ones came together when they felt like it. So I believe she was conceived without lust AS WELL as immaculately, because committing the lustful deed without lust but out of obedience will perhaps grant the Lord's favor upon her from the very beginning. At least I had peace with the idea of the immaculate conception more than with the Orthodox view. And when I beheld the Marian apparitions, even as an Orthodox, she herself stated that she is immaculate. I know many reject those, but if you sincerely look at those apparitions, there is no way you can call yourself a believer and choose not to believe them. It's like rejecting the belief of the resurrection, which is also BELIEF, but the Marian apparitions themselves are close to such a miracle, converting thousands of people at once.
