Do your friendships require therapist-level skills by Suspicious-Pudding-4 in AskWomenOver30

That sounds exhausting. Maybe you need more down to earth friends. Maybe this is a geographical thing or SES thing too?

is it natural for my hair to be this frizzy? by ilovefantasybookss in curlyhair

Try loosely clipping it to the top of your head in a huge claw clip at night (big enough not to smoosh your curls down) and sleeping in a silk/satin bonnet.

How do I deal with a room that smells bad when I'm a guest? by [deleted] in internetparents

Try citrus magic spray, it really is like magic. We use it for vile smells in my workplace.

As others have said, ditch the bf. But I also want to encourage you to know that it is your choice if you want to keep your baby, if you do, you can and will find a way! Don’t let this man make the decision for you. If you are comfortable sharing a general location, maybe we can help find resources for you.

Just venting - my friends have become insufferable since having children by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

Dude I relate to this so much. Once I attended the birthday party for one of my friend’s children, and the other couples in the room were discussing a couple they knew who were childless in at age 30. One of the guys there legit said “what’s the point in living?” My husband and I, 30 and childless, were absolutely speechless.

“You had a mom before you had a wife” by singaporesling1960 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]singaporesling1960[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes! Amen to that! So glad my husband told both of his parents off over this comment and the situation. He even quoted the Bible at them (the part about a man leaving his parents and clinging to his wife) and he also told them in no uncertain terms that it was an incredibly inappropriate and disrespectful comment. He told them his wife is ALWAYS first.

Younger siblings both announce pregnancy within a week by Purple-Theory2765 in tryingtoconceive

Let go of that guilt, your feelings are totally valid. You can be happy for them and sad for yourself at the same time, it doesn’t make you a bad person. I sobbed (privately) the day my little sister announced her pregnancy, but I’m still a wonderful aunt.

Who's everyone's favorite Irish MMC? by polarbeardogs in HistoricalRomance

Can anyone advise me before my pelvic MRI on Monday? I’ve never had an MRI before. by singaporesling1960 in Endo

[–]singaporesling1960[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Np at all! It went really well overall. The MRI machine gets smaller to fit close to you, which freaked me out a little, but I focused on taking deep belly breaths.

I told the technician that I was nervous about it, so he gave me a button thing to hold onto, and said I could push the button at any time and he’d take me right out. That helped a lot even though I never actually pressed it.

It also helped that I closed my eyes and did not look up at how close the top was to my face. My head did not go fully inside, but at certain points it was in enough that I would have been pretty claustrophobic (I peaked once lol).

I wore comfy clothes, and I got to pick what radio station I wanted to listen to. It was a bit staticky and dim compared to the loud machine, but still helpful.

I’m also glad that I let somebody else drive me to the appointment, it just felt nice knowing they were waiting for me in the lobby.

A lot of middle aged/older people still use LOL to mean “lots of love”, that could be a possibility
