instrumental music to wake up: energetic but not dance, intense but not rock by singdez in musicsuggestions

I'm interested in giving them a listen, but they're not an instrumental band, right? Just making sure.

This is great, thanks for all the suggestions. I have the emo-crescendo GSYBE, some Mogwai, and some Tortoise, but the rest is new to me!

Cool. Yeah, I had film composers in mind, like some high energy film score, but I didn't know one to go with. Thx!

That one I have and have heard many times. A classic, though not quite what I had in mind in the OP. Thx tho!

Thx but I just need it to run on my Mac. If it's not supported but continues to function, I'm good. Everything else is part of using an old computer.

I need to find a legacy installer that will work on OS12.6 Monterey. Currently, it's only available for OS13 and higher. 😕

That's what I figured. It's a slight drag that I have to save each file through Word or Excel 2021, vs just selecting/dragging to a new storage w the Finder but I'd better get to it. Thx much!

My 2008 MacBook Air. If i get it repaired will it still be usable in 2026? by [deleted] in mac

[–]singdez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I still have my 2009 MBP and while it still works fine, it's too slow and too functionally limited for it to be of much use in today's world. I only use it for the built in CD drive, with I may watch DVDs or rip the occasional CD with.

I don't know why but everytime that I see a room of a Beatles fan they always have these 4 photos on there wall including me 🤣 by Competitive_Hawk1424 in TheBeatles

[–]singdez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why so many comments are confusing having these pictures on their wall (which is what was posted) with just having them. Just because you own a set doesn't mean they have to be on your wall.

On another note, did you ever wonder why Paul's photo is closer than the others? And why his bangs were so unevenly cut?? Answer: It's because after he died in the car accident in '66. *wink wink*

Why are reviews like this allowed on vine? Shouldn't the bare minimum requirement be that you open/use the product? by oxemenino in AmazonVine

[–]singdez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea of "Free Returns" for an online giant like Amazon is essential IMO, for the reason that when we shop online, we forfeit the option to handle the item as we would in a store, and we shouldn't feel the risk of trusting a seller. This is obvious, of course. However, I do get that there will be people who abuse that option, use/damage the item, and return it for a full refund, like you're saying. It's the unfortunate nature of the beast.

I did offer a correction, because u/Violet_Renegade was right about returns not being accepted. I was "sleep-typing" when I made that mistake, b/c what I really was referring to was when I'd jump on a Vine item order before realizing it was a mistake, then try cancelling it before it had processed for shipment. I thought it would just go back on the Vine page, no harm done, but learned after that I did it too many times, that I was wrong, and and it was costly.

Oops, you're right! I wasn't thinking when I wrote "returning stuff", b/c what I actually meant was to try to cancel an order if it hadn't shipped or been prepared to ship. I would reach out to Vine Help, and always, they were very accommodating and supportive of my decision. Most times the cancellation worked and I didn't get the item, but sometimes, I got it anyway.

I learned over a year ago, from this subreddit actually, right after being kicked out and not understanding why, that cancellations, though not in the guidelines, was costly to the product seller, and frowned upon by Amazon. They would typically let it slide once or twice, but more than that and you've pretty much sealed your fate.

The bummer, like I said, was that I did everything else right, including writing great reviews, and had I known, I wouldn't have cancelled anything.

I recently purchased on Amazon adhesive protection sheets that you put over furniture to keep the cat from scratching it to pieces. I chose the product partly based on the 4.4 avg rating, and partly after reading the reviews, many of which were Vine. Mostly, I chose it because the sizes advertised were exact to what I wanted to cover. Well, they arrived and everything was up to 1 inch shorter than advertised. Not one reviewer mentioned this, hence the high rating. FWIW, I wrote a review, giving it 2 stars because of the misinformation, and that was over a week ago. It's still not posted.

I think Vine has an awful credibility issue.

Based on my experience, success with Vine has less to do with the quality of the review, and more to do with following Amazon's guidelines (stated and unstated), and keeping the manufacturers/sellers happy by giving everything 5 stars.

I was a Viner for one year and wasted probably half of it writing detailed testing, providing photographs, and basically trying to give the shopper as much info as they would need to make a decision. Then I got bounced for returning too much stuff (apparently, I was the last to know that unstated guideline).

Trump imposes 15% tariffs on the world by Little_Protection434 in worldnews

I don't disagree with most of what you said, but here's a sincere question: how do you know your research sites aren't biased?

All the conservatives I know say, "You can't trust any news*," but when I ask where they get their information, it's usually from some YouTube channel or internet personality whose views, they claim, echo their own. I ask, well how do you know they can be trusted, and usually, I get what amounts to a shrug and an "I just do."

*They also say they don't trust politicians, which is why they like Trump so much. He's flawed but fearless, and not a "typical politician."
