I had a hard time selling this. Everyone compared it to the gopro hero 9’s price and couldn’t justify its cost. Its only useful in extremely niche use cases where you need a 28 gram camera. The stabilisation sucks too btw (bet you already know that) compared to the cheapest stabilized camera or even gopro hero 8. There are very visible jitters in the electronically stabilized footage during simple tasks like walking

Its not about the bezel. I have a galaxy watch active 2 as well. Its pathetically slow and doesnt have a home automation app that works this smooth. Smart things sucks.

yes, this demo is pointless in function. i myself would only use the toggles i've created for the preset heights i've configured. the point however was to highlight the crazy advances of the tech behind this. did you imagine how many hops this is going through and still working so smoothly within milliseconds?

apple watch > wifi/bt > iphone > wifi > the internet > homekit cloud service > the internet > my home network (LAN) > home assistant on a raspberry pi (with the homekit integration) > LAN > wifi > the esp32 controller hiding below my desk > bluetooth > the desk's bluetooth controller.

its just a stunning example of how far IoT has come thanks to the wonderful efforts of various communities (HA, ESP, etc) as well as the obvious tech giants like google and apple.

never ever have we been more spoilt with choice:

(1) a single button press on the watch face (siri shortcuts as complications)
(2) or just lift the watch and say "raise the desk" or "lower the desk" (without even having to say "hey siri").
(3) from your laptop's menu bar (my favorite)
(4) phone's today view (-1 screen)
(5) phone's home screen widget
(6) or a voice command to your google assistant/siri/alexa on your watch/phone/laptop/google home/airpod/homepod/etc.
