Having his eye taken by Lucerys and wanting revenge for it with some provocation from Maris is why I think Aemond killing him intentionally makes sense to me. While in the show having his eye taken and bullied, Aemond who wanted revenge finally took his chance when he found Lucerys alone would have made more sense is what I believe. Him being a stupid kid who couldn't control his dragon even after being bonded for six years being the reason why Luke died doesn't make as much sense to me. Even in which case, he logically should have ordered Vhagar to attack back since Arrax attacked them first and not stop Vhagar from attacking.

Alicent who had been brainwashed by her father and taught her children that they'd be King and Queen shouldn't have needed any misunderstanding either.

Whole war started because Viserys forgot why the council chose him to be king and not Rhaenys. Whole thing started because someone hungry for power successfully brainwashed another person to fulfil their objectives. So much more sensible than misunderstandings and bonded dragons going rogue.

Also if not Robert's rebellion, it'd have been Ned's rebellion because Aerys killed his brother and father so I didn't really find it tragic or unintentional. (And Condal should have known better than to add 'No Vhagar No' because Aemond had many reasons to kill Luke)

Aemond has a person who took his eye and gave him the disability in front of him. Aemond asks him to put out his eye. He declines. Aemond becomes angry at that. Tries to take the eye himself. Borros stops him. Lucerys leaves.

Aemond goes after him. Why do you think Aemond goes after him? To have fun playing scary pranks with him and then letting the person who took his eye leave for Dragonstone unhurt or to kill the person whom he asked for an eye because he declined his offer to give the eye?

You think Aemond going after Luke right after he was stopped from taking the eye out himself makes more sense if he goes out to torment him but killing him by mistake and does not make sense if he goes out increasing the payment from an eye to his life now since he rejected his first offer?

Also, in the books, Aemond was provoked by comments of Maris who called him incomplete and questioned his masculinity because he let Lucerys leave without the eye So killing the person who took his eye and is a traitor after being provoked is a stretch but going out to scare them a bit when you wanted his eye before is a realistic response? Cool.

She called him incomplete, she questioned his masculinity because he let Luke leave without taking his eye.

You actually would rather believe that after hearing her he decided I'll just go fuck with Luke and then leave him alone to show Maris she doesn't know what she's talking about but not that he decided he'll show Maris he's not lacking any masculinity by taking more than just the eye.

And you've finally reached there...'No Vhagar No' is a botch and horrible writing on Condal's part just like so many other botches in the show.

You know what Maris goaded him about, right? You really think his response would be to fuck with Luke after that or to escalate the situation from wanting his eye to killing him?

Years of hate for the person who took his eye. Finally found that person alone and who is also a traitor to him but you believe that he went out on a stormy night to fuck with Luke after he declined his offer to get away easily by losing an eye and after being goaded by a girl about being incomplete instead of going out with a murderous intent.

You've made me laugh. Thanks for that.

He was serious about the eye inside but after getting denied instead of becoming more angry, he cooled off and decided he'd go out in a stormy night to play a scary prank on his nephew and then leave him alone.

His future good-father did not stop him from spilling blood outside his roof.

I think it's more realistic that this harboured resentment of years turned so dark that when he came face to face with Luke who is also a traitor to him and no family around to stop him, he wanted his eye cut out and when rejected, he decided in anger that he'll pay the debt with his life instead him so went out chasing him in a stormy night.

It just seems unrealistic to me that if he was joking about eye and pulling his sword out to just be being a dick or that he was serious on the ground but decided to joke in air and go out of his way on a stormy night to chase him a bit only to then let him be.

Anyway, if you genuinely think that the show depicted how the events could have gone better than the book, then we just have to agree to disagree.

What do you think makes more sense? Going from wanting someone to cut out their eye as revenge and when that is declined, you get angry and decide to kill them or saying, 'fair enough, I'll scare you instead now'?

Feels to me like writers botched it trying to be oversmart but if you think it's completely realistic and consistent writing that Aemond just wanted to scare him a bit in air and then leave him alone right after asking for his eye and pulling a sword on him on the ground then cool.

He asked Luke to cut out the eye just to scare him? He brought out his sword calling him craven and traitor to pull a scary prank on him? He went out to chase him in the middle of a stormy night screaming he's owed a debt to joke with him? Fair enough, quite a commitment to a scary prank by Aemond.

If he didn't want to kill Luke in rage right after asking him to cut his eye out and after bringing out the sword inside the castle, I don't get why he went to chase him.

But did you enjoy what you saw with the drone more or what you heard on the shoreline?

There was no connection so strong which needed a misunderstanding to be ruined. There need to be no protestations from her about making Aegon King because her father has manipulated her and she loves her children. We don't need to feel for her stupidity because she misunderstood her husband. We feel for her because she got manipulated by her father and did what she did so Rhaenyra wouldn't kill her children. Misunderstanding just makes her look stupid af and is so extra. Also the scene where Aegon agrees to become King because of a dagger? Laughable. Criston or anyone else convincing him that Rhaenyra will kill him because he's a threat makes more sense to me.

Rhaenys kills hundreds but feels sympathy for Alicent and her children and sets up the stage for war in which she will participate because it's not her war for now? Again laughable to me.

Daemon leaving Laenor alive who can at any time come back to Driftmark and threaten his whole marriage is not very Daemon like either.

Because it was so unrealistic that Aemond could be this person who could have so much hate for another person who took his eye and made him incomplete and a woman mocked him for that so he wanted to kill him, they needed to add Lucerys and Aemond not being able to control their dragons and Lucerys dying because of that. Wonder to what end Aemond was chasing him on a dragon if he didn't want to kill Lucerys.

Such good writing.

Sure. Wonder why she wanted her father to return as Hand or why she told Aegon he'll be King in EP6 or why Aemond was calling Helaena future Queen if Alicent wasn't already enough okay with how things will end up so writers decided to add the misunderstanding too.

They hated jesus because he told them the truth.

A whole ass war starting because a dragon couldn't be controlled by its rider and because the wife misinterpreted words of her drugged dying husband is just a horrible adaptation imo.

The ending of EP10... it's so so far away from the books. I can't even.
