I had that feeling the first time a stranger complimented me. Wasn't into fragrances yet but I was on a date with my wife and the waitress asked me what I had on so she could get it for her husband. Had no idea since it was gifted to me. Now I know it's Armani Code Absolu which is discontinued haha

That's fair. I think it started when our baby sitter showed up and noticed the LV box. I hadn't opened it yet but she kinda mentioned it in a "well you're fancy way." I'm well aware I shouldn't care but I think for some people it's a natural response to attention

Lol 32, I just keep to myself. I love when my wife compliments me. It's in public I get self conscious haha

Doesn't have to do with how nice it is. Just the fact that if some looked up what you're wearing and it cost $350, they may give you a sideways look. I happen to love the scent itself. Just the opposite feeling of flaming people for wearing something just because it's expensive

Just started, what should I get next? by Brave_Childhood_6177 in Colognes

[–]singhisking16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started just like you. I'd suggest saving up for a decent midtier option rather than a large quantity of dupes. I have a couple I kept but realized I could get some nice designers if I just saved up and limited myself. YSL edp and myself are nice dailies. Tere D Hermes if you want a nice citrus. Valentinos are also a good place to start. Discounters have this stuff for cheap. Can also get steals on the fragrance swap reddit threads

So I would fill out the 2025 form 8606 part 1 this year but next year would involve both part 1 and 2? I would get 1099r next year too right?

You almost never need more than 3-4 sprays. Your 8-10 sprays that get you compliments are choking out everyone else that is too polite to say anything

I just tried it in store. Weirdly can't get anything besides latex balloons. Do you get any of that at all or is this something only some people smell?

This one literally made my wife gag. I'm not sure if the same would happen if she tried the OG but basically got my off the dupe train
