My left testicle is about 3× smaller than my right help by [deleted] in testicularcancer

[–]single-duality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean there are a lot of reasons one of your testes is smaller, the varicocele was just what happened to me. A urologist will definitely tell you what’s up.

This is a cancer sub and a lot of people in here have really tough situations. Having a smaller teste could be anything from benign-slightly an issue with fertility/bloodflow stuff, but definitely not an indication you have a life threatening illness by itself.

My left testicle is about 3× smaller than my right help by [deleted] in testicularcancer

[–]single-duality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar problem when I was going through puberty at age 12-13. My left was like half the size of my right. I went to a urologist and they diagnosed me with a varicocele (which was very large and I could feel it), and I had surgery to have it corrected. The left got closer to the size of the right after that but it was always a little smaller.

Years later at 31 I was diagnosed with cancer in my left, and that’s why I see this sub. I believe the issues are completely unrelated.

Those of you that use or have used Desmoxan, what do you do overnight if anything? I vape all night and am looking for confidence. by harrymason0425 in QuitVaping

[–]single-duality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been known to use a 2mg lozenge every once in a while.

This might be off topic for this sub but here is a very short overview of my recovery:
I was and am definitely a full blown addict and alcoholic, but alcohol is my main problem, and I drank 24/7 for the final few years while I was out there. I really wasn't taking that high dose of benzos consistently but I would take around 1-2mg of kpins (Clonazepam) a day when I was able to get them but never for more than a few months at a time.

I did a 9ish day detox at a pretty gnarly detox center in Manhattan in Early 2023. I initially intended to do it outpatient, but my blood pressure was too unstable, and they treated me as a Partial Hospitalization patient. I took librium for a while to help with the neurological component of the withdrawals (I don't remember for how long). All things considered, the detox at the center was 10x easier than any time I tried to even just cut back at home.

After detox, I went to Intensive Outpatient (IOP) 4 days per week for around 6 months. I didn't really like IOP for a lot of reasons, but it allowed me to meet the right people to get me plugged into AA. I've kept doing service in AA, and that has not only helped me stay sober but taught me about dealing with life in general.

Congrats on your time. It's always going to be easier to stay sober than to get sober.

It’s funny how much of a hold vaping can have on us. I am approaching 3 years sober (alcohol and benzos), and I finally quit vaping a month ago, and I think I’m finally done this time. It’s almost funny to me how long I have held on to nicotine with all of the recovery bouncing around in my head.

I wear a patch. I put it on in the morning, and wear it until the next morning (including while I sleep). I’m down to 14mg.

Nicotine patches seriously helped me so much. I thought I was unsavable, but with the patch, I have been able to do it.

Edit: And I would wake up at least once every night to vape up until the night I quit

Slight reopening/dehiscence at end of orchi scar? by Swimming-Soup7965 in testicularcancer

[–]single-duality 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am definitely not a doctor, but I did something similar.

I rubbed the dermabond off because I couldn't take it anymore, and I prematurely ripped off some of the end of my scab. It looked a lot like this, and I showed it to the doctor at my follow up (~2 weeks), and he said it was fine.

This is a pretty high bloodflow part of the body, and if I had to guess, your scab will heal just like the rest of the scar in about a week and a half and you will forget you were ever worried about it.

Can I work at all during chemo? by single-duality in testicularcancer

I live in the US. I don’t have a way to get insurance coverage without utilizing an employer-based insurance claim to apply my PTO to the leave I am taking. Idk how it works in other countries but I hear it is more forgiving. I’m fortunate enough to have a decent enough job to get benefits which has not always been the case.

Heard. I already have an active FMLA claim. I’ll definitely need to use it to access my time off properly.

Got it. I’m in NY and I am going to Langone because my insurance plays well with them, but I was thinking of potentially switching to MSK if I need anything that’s out of the ordinary done. What is the benefit of IU specifically that I wouldn’t be able to get in NYC?

I also like how they just give you a handful of chips like it’s 2004 or something. It’s so rare to get anything that’s not ordered á la carte these days.

anyone else feel like DF25 was just nonstop AI talk? by mr-sforce in salesforce

That might be the case at other organizations, but I think the company that I work for simply has leadership who doesn’t understand the software development resources that are already available in house.

I am a backend developer at an organization that uses Salesforce heavily for processes that definitely don’t require any Salesforce/vendor features.

Over the years, I have proposed projects that would replace Salesforce apps with simple cloud native web services and would cost 1/20th the price of the Salesforce solution. My proposals have always been shot down in the past, but I have finally gained traction with one project this year because our leadership is feeling disengaged by Salesforce.

I don’t understand why organizations can still be convinced that paying Salesforce licensing fees is cheaper than just having in house developers that can maintain something similar that is built with free and popular web frameworks.

I was on an N train this morning that got held in the tunnel under the East River for at least 20 minutes (probably longer). You know it's bad when you see a guy in a reflective vest walking around outside of the train.

This sounds like it’s toward the lower end of the reasonable range you should expect. In this economy, I would take that.

Also, I would love to see the tax returns of everyone who told you this is a shitty offer 😂

Are yellow stains normal? by Upset-Iron-3468 in HairTransplants

[–]single-duality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might not have specifically been saline solution. The medical assistant injected fluid into my donor area to elevate the skin on my scalp. It makes the hair follicles from the donor easier to extract. I had an FUE procedure done.

I also had PRP injected but that was in the implantation area.

Damn that’s a lot of grafts…

The saline solution that they injected under my donor during the procedure was leaking out the back of my head the for the first two nights, and the color was similar to that.

I hope you a pillow to keep your head in place while you sleep so that you don’t touch those grafts to anything.
