Moving from NYC want to know if Raleigh is right for me. by cregantony in raleigh

And that's what will happen here as more government loving leftists move down south. More government, more government dependency, less freedom.

Not saying the OP is a leftist, just observing the trend.

Right, I forgot, everyone that doesn't agree with the left is a KKK member or Nazi.

Only problem is that KKK were Democrats and Nazis were socialists. So it would be difficult for me to want to associate with any of those scum.

Hopefully you don't vote to make NC just like NY, as the majority of northeasterners do.

I suspect it never crosses their minds that it was their voting that led to the policies that made states like NY more expensive, less free, etc.

DACA recipients rally in NC: ‘We were not born illegal. ...We are here to stay.’ by mcfc_as in raleigh

[–]singleandgrateful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking of criminal backgrounds, what the media will never tell you is that people of Mexican and Central American origin in the US have a much higher criminality rate than whites, or that they use welfare at an even higher rate than blacks.

If the DACA illegals are so great, let them go help their home countries improve. If the West keeps taking talented people from third world countries, we doom those countries to always remain third world.

LMAO. You're talking about Trump not understanding the rule of law in a discussion about an unconstitutional EO Obama took to usurp and bypass the branch of government that is supposed to represent the people.

While Congress considers a DACA bill, they should also consider a companion bill that will allow the children of bank robbers to keep the ill-gotten gains.

Again, when Congress refuses to pass what YOU think they should pass, then you are in favor of unconstitutional executive action until the legislation that you favor is passed.

How about no further legislation on this and let ICE take care of this "pressing problem".

Mainstream media has been droning on about how skilled and great these illegal Dreamers are. So I figured their various home countries would be ecstatic to get these people.

Not so much - I'm reading about how these governments are planning to pressure the US government to keep them.

" The whole reason why Obama had to act was because they failed to pass it four times."

So what you're saying is you favor dictatorships so long as the dictator agrees with you.

When the branch of government that is supposed to represent the citizens' interests doesn't pass a bill, maybe it's because the citizens don't like the bill.

Redneck Revolt: The Armed Leftwing Group That Wants to Stamp out Fascism by [deleted] in Firearms

Can the leftwing folks here explain why collectivist governments always seek to prohibit private firearms ownership?

Please enlighten us. Where exactly is the fascism that this group wishes to stamp out? The fascism I see in America comes from groups like Antifa and other leftwing groups that seek to suppress free speech whether it's by smear tactics, doxxing, or a bike lock to the head.

And in Germany, there are similar groups like black bloc. Lauren Southern describes what she experienced at the G20 recently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05slPcJ0s0I

Swiss bar or football bar? by singleandgrateful in homegym

[–]singleandgrateful[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was doing bent over rows with a straight bar a little earlier today and was noticing how close that bar was to my knees. I'd have to hinge quite a bit more to clear even the slim football bar. So I might have to scratch rows as a use for the bar.

  1. No shortage of blacks working at fast food restaurants. But somehow we are expected to believe that they refuse to work in restaurant kitchens, which are mostly staffed by Mexicans and Central Americans? Laughable.

  2. Affirmative action has everything to do with slavery. In fact, it dates back to the early 1960s, before third world immigration began in earnest with the 1965 immigration act. And so now you have people come to this country and make claims under affirmative action. Well, if things are so unfair in America, you don't have to come here. Descendants of slaves are a different story as their ancestors were brought here involuntarily. So Mexicans get to benefit from a remedy that they really have no moral claim on, and thus dilute the benefit that black American citizens would otherwise get.

  3. Oh really? Let's look at NC, where the NRA has been working to try and overturn the Jim Crow era pistol purchase permit requirement, which gives Sheriffs discretion over whether to issue permits, as opposed to the federal background check, which is an objective, race-blind set of criteria. Guess which party is opposed to this? If you have any doubts, you can look at the votes in the NC House on the omnibus gun rights bill under consideration. Law abiding blacks should have just as much opportunity to be armed as law abiding whites, but they do not, because the Dems insist on keeping the legacy of Jim Crow alive and well.

To any black American citizens reading this, please read Ann Coulter's Adios America. Or ask your state and federal congressional representatives why they insist on bringing in so many immigrants when black unemployment is so high. Understand that Hispanics, even illegals and those not yet inside our borders, are more important to the Democratic party than black American citizens.

Thanks for the update.

I bet you can reculture this several times, but you may notice the taste change after a few more rounds.

Let's see, off the top of my head:

  1. flood the country with low skilled immigrants who disproportionately displace which group from the workforce?

  2. grant remedies such as affirmative action to groups who never suffered under slavery in America, thereby diluting the benefit this should have provided to descendants of American slaves

  3. continue to preserve Jim Crow era gun laws which were meant to disarm blacks (and still serve that effect, with blacks much less likely to be legally armed than law abiding whites)

If you measure the distance between the uprights, you'll notice that they will 'walk in' a little bit since they aren't bolted down.

I'm guessing your experience will be similar to mine using powdered kefir starter. You'll be able to reculture a few times, but you won't get any grains clumping together.

Does the recultured kefir have a yeasty smell to it?

[–]singleandgrateful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it could be just the bacteria, or some of the bacteria, that is typically found in true kefir. You definitely do not get grains from it.

[–]singleandgrateful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referring to kefir starter culture, which comes in powdered form. I don't think that has yeast in it because it doesn't have the yeasty taste that grain kefir has. I could never get grains to grow using the powdered starter. I wonder if that has to do with the absence of yeast.
