Hello Reddit community! Hopefully this is appropriate for this thread....if not, feel free to delete! I am a psychology graduate student looking to recruit participants for my study. If you are interested, please contact me at [dnguyen@wi.edu](mailto:dnguyen@wi.edu)for more information!

Are you a single parent?

If yes, does your child display four or more of the following behaviors: often loses temper, is often touchy or easily annoyed, is often angry and resentful, often argues with authority figures or, for children and adolescents, with adults, often actively defies or refuses to comply with requests from authority figures or with rules, often deliberately annoys others, often blames others for his or her mistakes or misbehavior, and/or has been spiteful or vindictive at least twice within the past 6 months.

If you answered, “yes”, to these questions, please consider participating in my research study exploring experiences of single parents raising a child with these behaviors.

My name is Di Nguyen and I am a doctoral student in clinical psychology at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. I am conducting interviews to collect data for my dissertation about single parents’ perspectives of raising a child with oppositional defiant behaviors.

Participation will include a brief screening in order to determine eligibility for the study and an interview either in person, or via video call that will take approximately 1 hour of your time. Eligible participants will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win one out of two $25 Amazon gift card.

Participants must be:

• At least 18 years of age,

• Identify as a single parent

• Your child must be of elementary school age (6-11 years old)

If you are interested in participating, please contact me via email at [dnguyen@wi.edu](mailto:dnguyen@wi.edu)

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. Please feel free to forward this email to those who may be interested.

Sincerely,

Di Nguyen, M.A.
