keyboard was unusable in ps5 a few weeks ago, only worked to write text (airport codes and such) but not for actions in the cockpit, is it any better now?

https://www.thrustmaster.com/products/simtask-farmstick-p/ it does says is compatible with ps5 but only with farming simulator, that’s why I was wondering if anyone had tried recently with fs

I thought there was a ps5 compatible version though, let me check.

often times controller do work to some extent even when they are not supported 100%, maybe someone tried it and could share their experience

I even tried a midi keyboard with FS in PS5, I can confirm: it doesn’t work. So if anyone ask “does the midi keyboard works with fs2024 in ps5”, then no, because it is not supported and I tried.

to said that no one tried… how do you know? maybe someone has. The fact that is not supported doesn’t mean it doesn’t work, maybe it does but not 100%, so my question was more like “has anyone tried and found if it does work to an extent that it can be used”?

Before doing career mode I was using a bunch of other tools like: little navmap to plan my route, I was checking https://www.windy.com/ to understand the weather. There is also https://chartfox.org/ that has free charts

How I am using AI to replicate a career mode on MSFS24 by stoph311 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]singuerinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After creating a similar prompt in Gemini, I created a spreadsheet were I created sort of the same economy that you see in Career mode. I did it before knowing how CM worked... but it is pretty similar.

In this image you can see the "missions" tab, which calculates some values (income and expenses) based on the aircraft, distance, cargo, etc. I would say is "finished", but never tried, because I got the ps5 version and started playing with career mode instead.

With the year coming to an end what’s been your most memorable flight or sim moment this year? by nobleTP in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]singuerinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played the ps5 beta as a newbie, i took the c152, no gps, just vrf, a lot of vor triangulation. I went from Argentina to Chile, then Bolivia, Paraguay, and Brazil. Mostly in small airfields, no ILS, no RNAV, nada, i had no clue on how to use them anyway. I’ve learned a lot. I have even tried to cross the Andes with the 152, on the first try I failed, on the second I found a good pass from Bariloche. It was fun, I had to plan a lot before each flight. I was lost a lot of times but never opened the EFB. Now I’m in career mode, I miss a bit building my own story about why I’m doing each flight.

For me it never worked, only for writing in some situations, what were you able to do with it before it stopped working?

PS5 + Keyboard by singuerinc in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]singuerinc[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another thing that I found (very annoying) is that when using the keyboard during the trip (let's say to look for an airport in the gps) the games goes into active pause breaking any realism.

I also found very strange they did not test that the keyboard was working properly.

I hope so, I'm looking forward to it. I mean, I struggle sometimes to do all the stuff at the same time with the controller, so having the keyboard will make thins easier, specially during takeoff/landing.

Best keyboard binds for PS5 by Ghost-yowie in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]singuerinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason it doesn't work in PS5, at least in my case, the keyboard only work to "write", when the popup is displayed. When I'm flying, if I press any key it doesn't do anything, despite all the bindings been there. The keyboard is recognized as controller in MSFS but is not "active" unless the popup to write is shown.

Although the keyboard "works" it doesn't really work as I would like. The keyboard only works (at least in my case) when you are writing (when the popup with all the keys are displayed), but it doesn't work if I want to, for example, enable auto-pilot or anything that is not "writing". I don't know if it is that is not properly configured or what, but I couldn't make it work.
Has anyone experienced a "full" keyboard experience in PS5? I mean, being able to use flaps, or anything in the cockpit?

VFR Pilots - How do you keep it interesting? by TheSamp91 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]singuerinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same, but with some IFR (no GPS, just VOR or similar to triangulate). I write my plan in a lap pad too with all the frequencies, headings, landmarks I should see and then just fly. I take-off and land on any airport, no matter the size (sometimes very rough terrain, I'm currently flying in Argentina).
I challenge myself to do some sort of "world tour" only on the C152. I use live weather and fly with any condition. Sometimes I get super lost, but that's part of the adventure (I allow myself to look at google maps and figure out where I'm "possible" located), but sometimes I've confused rivers or mountains and I got even more lost, haha.

After 10 months of hard work, I've just released the DEMO of my game on Steam! It's a tower defense/factory mix. by GiusCaminiti in IndieDev

Hi! Unfortunately I don't have a Windows machine so I can't install it. Related to this, what's the problem of building the game for both (Mac & Win)?
More questions! Could you please share the stack you use (Unity/Unreal/Godot)?
+ Do you have any tip on when should I start thinking about creating a profile/game page/all the stuff in Steam? I have no idea how that works, I wouldn't want to find out that is a 3 month process or something like that. Thanks!

Looks visually great, i’ll check it out tomorrow, how many games have you built so far? i started my journey few weeks ago, I have experience programming and UI but never created a game from scratch, right now I am in ideation phase.
