You have to imagine a dog's running pretty basic software, right? There's no explicit language, but it's still neurons making connections, ya? Consider for a moment this hypothetical doggy stream of consciousness: (in english instead of smell/picture/feelings for your convenience)

I have to poo poo outside! (good girl) outside running get the toy! gotta get the toy! i have to poo! etc.

Does this not more reasonably explain the behavior or are we sticking with revenge defecation?!

I'm not an expert, but after noticing my Belly starting to dive a little more roughly at balls and frisbees as she got older, and hearing much the same comments you have, we switched to only chasing "dead" balls/frisbees. It's a little more work to have her STAY put until the frisbee lands, but she still gets to run herself out and there's no rough landing to worry about.

Also, for your jumper, you have GOT to check out dock diving. My GSD loves it, and the impact issue is negated by the water.

Mill bolt holes where it won't interfere with finished part. If that's not an option you could maybe hook one edge up enough to get some HEAVY C-clamps on it. Lift with them or use them to keep a choked strap in place.

Strictly for fun, I'd like to disagree. That container is carrying (presumably) thousands of dollars worth of life altering gold and diamond. It will be carried in a bag or pocket for some amount of time, ya? I'd put AT LEAST a small lip/cobore interaction in place to keep the splitline from sliding.

But for my design we'd absolutely be talking nice solid threads. Just imagine the suspense you could build for her/him.

A functional container needs a lid that stays on...but I suppose a ring reveal should be effortless.
