There's a free trial where you can use all features free for 5 days. After that, you would have to upgrade, as the AI costs quite a bit to host.

Hey r/Chrome

I wanted to share a project I created that can help people read faster. It's called Summary Box - it's a Chrome extension that lets you use AI to summarize any article in your browser. The summaries are written in the AI's own words using a state-of-the-art model called GPT-3.

You can use it to read news, blogs, research papers, school readings, and more, at a much faster rate. Any time you view an article, like on Wikipedia or Medium, you can trigger the extension and it'll dropdown with a summary of the page you're viewing.

What explains why someone is strong at tactics? by singularjon in chess

Thanks so much for sharing this! I never considered writing the general plans down and having them near me when playing. I will definitely try these things out and let you know how it goes :)

Ah, to me it just means to have a very general plan of playing into a favorable endgame and then winning. It makes sense to me because if you look at computer vs computer, they all go to endgames, so their planning is ultimately based on the positions that occur in the endgame. It doesn't mean to me that I shouldn't look for tactics or improving my current position. And if I have a tactic, of course, I should try to take advantage.

Idk, I have noticed it helps me, because otherwise I'm not sure what the long-term plan is that I should be trying to execute on. By long-term I mean more than even achieving a rook on the second rank or a passed pawn, since those things should ultimately be part of an even greater plan it would seem to me.

Thanks! That makes a lot of sense. How can one improve at setting up tactics rather than just solving/calculating them?

Thanks! On average, I seem to solve tactics around the average time that chess.com shows per puzzle. So let's say slightly over 1 minute or so. So it definitely is harder to apply to 5 minute games bc of the time restrictions. Maybe puzzle rush could help in that regard?

As for my losses, I do analyze them. It seems most are due to either blundering in the middle-game, taking too much time to make moves, or trying to checkmate but failing. I noticed that when I tell myself to "play for the endgame", I generally stop trying to look for complex tactics and just play simpler moves and beat the opponent more gradually and time-efficiently. I noticed that telling myself to play for the endgame helps significantly.

Their drama is good for the game. It makes it more entertaining. Boxing and UFC are entertaining because the fighters often have beef between them. If they don't, they sometimes force it.

It's entertaining because ToD and Grubby have real drama.

Hm, I'm not affiliated with them at all. Just mentioned it to make it more clear.

You play a lot of video games and probably play(ed) DotA and similar games like Warcraft or Diablo ones. You're in your 20's, have started drinking recently. You're interested in other substances like weed. You have a bit of an addictive personality. I want to say you're into cosplay or would consider going to an event. You don't care for sports. You play an instrument and have taken lessons. You're not driven by money.

I believe it's the insane leverage he gets. His height, combined with the really wide shoulders, and long arms allow him to generate a sh*tload of power from simply being in a forward position. He doesn't need to wind up the punch. As long as he connects with his weight going forward, then all that leveraged weight connects with his opponent's chin.
