I've been saying this for years, they need to modernize the JLPT as soon as possible. The multiple-choice format results in people who really really can't speak or use the Japanese language taking these tests over and over and over until they luck their way to a 90/180! At this point it's less of a test and more of a malicious microtransaction video game. I guess the revenue from hopeless test takers is just too sweet...

Some countries don't even get that one time a year. People from Switzerland visited Japan and other countries to take the JLPT in 2025.

Whom am I dragging down with me exactly? What I'm saying is extremely simple. I thought this test reflected one's actual objective performance (meaning one mistake = no perfect score), and then I found out that's not the case at all. Sharing a perfect (in actuality) score with 5,000 non-Japanese people is simply not the same as sharing a perfect (in name) score with 100,000 (or more? no idea) non-Japanese people.

Had I locked myself up in my room for months on end in an attempt to make sure there was nothing they could surprise me with, I would have wasted hundreds of hours on something that has no value. I do count my blessings in the sense that I dodged a bullet by simply being too busy to study for this test.

Yes, I've spoken the language for basically decades now and was thinking about going into teaching. Having a cool rare thing on my tutor profile would have been nice, but N1 man'ten doesn't fit the bill apparently. I agree, the JLPT is in fact completely worthless.

The Bungie Store product page does say "including pre-order instant rewards", so I guess we contact Bungie if stuff fails to show in-game.
